Horizontal Drip-Catch Nipples
Water nipples for chickens, ducks and other poultry. Side-facing with drip-catch design to reduce moisture build-up in the coop.
Horizontal nipples take a firmer peck to activate than vertical nipples. They're best used for stronger flock members and not young chicks.
Simple to modify a square bucket, round bucket or PVC pipe systems for use with these nipples.

My wife has a heated winter water bucket with three of these nipples. Recently the pin fell out of two of them resulting in an empty bucket! These nipples are perfect; I simply unscrewed the old ones and threaded in the new ones.
Upon examination of the one remaining old nipple, I confirmed that the failure is that a small o-ring that both seals the nipple and serves to retain the pin against the spring force. That ring apparently dries out and cracks over time, resulting in the pin ejecting itself! Based on that observation, I’ve decided that I need to keep a small stock of replacement nipples handy at all times. It’s tough keeping the birds watered in the New England winter otherwise.

So far, so good. We had the “under bucket” nipples, the girls had no issues or adjustments needed to the horizontal nipples.

Chickens didn’t seem to like these.

As the largest breeder of Silkie chicks and hens in the Northeast I can attest to the quality of Premier’s products over the knockoffs available on Amazon from replacement nipples, waterers and heated waterers. We normally have 750–1000 chickens on our farm we use their waterers in all of our pens in our hatchery as well as our barn for our own breeding flock in our barn.

After trying different watering systems and nipples for my hens, this is by far the best.
