My hens wont use it.

I ordered 3 of the outdoor collection boxes so my toddler had easy access to eggs. 2 out of 3 boxes had crooked doors. I didn’t feel comfortable using them at all considering I would barley tap the door and they popped right open. Any predator or maybe even high wind could have opened it right up! I decided to just return all 3 and not take my chances.

Not impressed at all! Chickens would not go in so we purchased 2 fake eggs. We positioned them so they would not roll down. Still the chickens would not go in. We spray painted the outside black to prevent the red glow inside. Chickens refuse to go in this box. Unfortunately we purchased 5 initially for our chicken runs. So far we haven’t been pleased.

Easy install. Chickens moved to a new coop and laid in the box the second day in their new place. We did put a nesting pad to encourage them. We put a light coat of black spray paint on the inside to tone down the red glow. Such quick delivery. First time purchase from Premier 1 and we had a good experience.

The plastic glows red during the day which I am trying to figure out a way to cover it because the chickens like it dark in their nest box. Also the door and egg door isn’t very secure from raccoons. It was easy to install.
