MaxiShock Double Insulated Cable
Premier’s MaxiShock 7 strand cable covered with a double layer of pliable plastic insulation.
Because of its low tensile strength and thick zinc coating, wrapping it several turns around the conductor or stainless P spring provides an enduring connection capable of transferring the high volts and amperes of low impedance energizers.
By contrast, HT insulated wires, including our Double Insulated (DCPIW34) wires, must be secured by a connector because their high tensile properties causes them to slightly untwist—allowing sparking and corrosion to develop over time.
If you intend to use for temporary or semi-permanent fences, look to MaxiShock Insulated Cable.
- Hot wires to each other
- Energizers to fences or ground rods
- Gate activators to fences
- Flood gaps to fences
- For below ground electric fence connections
- Extra-thick layer of galvanized zinc protects the connection from rusting
- Low tensile strength
- 7 strand cable
- 1.7 mm diameter
- 10 years of probable life
- 160 lb breaking strength
When working with this wire, always be sure that the energizer or fence is turned off.

Good strong wire. I have it both buried and aerially off the barn. No problems yet.

I had a problem determining if the cable was actually double insulated. Now I know to look for both white and a black insulation. It would have helped if the cable was labeled as double insulated.

We have used products from premier1supplies for years. Everything we have purchased is good and lasts years. We are still using their electric rope. in some places it is about 14 years and is still good. I always suggest this company for anyone interested in electric fencing.

Excellent choice compared to trenching other wire out to our fence. We used an edger/trencher similar to putting in buried dog fencing and it worked great. The wire is strong enough to handle the occasional hit with the weed wacker line as well.

Nice to have a product this good that you can work with using just your bare hands. Easy to strip the insulation off to with a simple pliers.
