Product Details
This 7 strand cable is covered with pliable plastic insulation. Unlike Double Insulated Wire, MaxiShock insulated cable does not require special connectors.
If you intend to use it underground, look to MaxiShock Double Insulated Cable or Strainrite Extra Heavy Duty Insulated Cable.
If you're installing permanent electric fences, use Strainrite Extra Heavy Duty Insulated Cable.

Installation
- Cut the soft wire cable with a knife or heavy duty scissors.
- Strip off 3" of the insulation and wrap it 4 or more times around the wire by hand.
- It can be removed and reinstalled if needed.

Insulated cable is one of those products that is useful in so many applications. A cheap product that doesn’t last or doesn’t meet the specs I need is a waste of money, not a bargain. I appreciate that Premier 1 carries high-quality items that are also reasonably priced.

Was looking for a wire to bridge over from our electric fence to our mobile chicken tractor and this wire offered the solution I was looking for. Insulated where it can rest on the ground, but flexible enough to maneuver around the property. I wrapped the stranded wire on the stationary side and on the tractor side installed an alligator clip.
