Mountable Teat Feeders
Build your own milk feeding system!
Mountable teat feeders allow shepherds to build an orphan feeding system that fits their needs. Units are designed to pull milk from a non-pressurized reservoir.
Two DIY systems:
- 1. Plate Assemblies (single- or double-teat)
- Attach to welded wire panels, or similar mounting surfaces that offer minimal support. Nipples fit through the back of the plate.
- 2. Wall Mountable Teat Units
- Attach to walls or wood planks (via drilled holes). Nipples are inserted through the front of the teat unit.
Benefits
- One-way valve prevents milk from flowing back into the container so the lambs will always have milk as soon as they start to nurse.
- Built-in filter prevents clots from forming in the tubes—stops blockages and simplifies cleaning.
- Feed 3–5 lambs per teat. Easier than individual bottles!

Replacement Teats
Tips
- Mount assemblies at about the same height that the ewes udder would be from the floor. 10-14" is the average. Teat should be about one inch above the highest milk level of the container that the milk is in. This will keep the teat from dripping, wasting costly milk replacer.
- Make sure to always have milk in the reservoir. If it runs out the lambs will abuse the teats and will require replacement.
- To clean, dismantle the unit and submerge it in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry.

These teat feeders are great!
Instead of bottle feeding by hand we put the tubes in a gallon jug and the gallon jug in a cooler of ice. They drink as they want. Every few hours turns instead into once a day.
As always opinions will vary, but works great for us.

Absolutely hands down better than the bucket with teats! Going to order a couple more units. This has made raising bottle lambs easier!

Recommended to me by a friend. Questioned it at first but couldn't believe how well it worked. Bit of a pain getting the bottom screen on the tube, but the other components worked well. Would leave a picture of our setup if I could.

Love it!

Bought the double nipple unit and mounted it to a cooler. Works GREAT! Lamb switched to this nipple with no hesitation.
