Just buy them! I’ve blade sheared for ~15 years and have used B&B shears until I found these. Not to knock the traditional shears or electric shears—I still use them from time to time—but these Pourika shears are one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. They’ve been through lots of fleece and are still going strong.
I take them with me to demos and have let others try them; they always end up buying a pair for themselves. Hands-down the best for matted wool, especially on the brisket. Easy to maneuver so the incidence of accidental cuts is very low.
They work exceptionally well on sheep that I shear on the stand or standing tied. I don’t like flipping large rams, and these are fantastic for the job.

I’m a 67 yo female and these are easy to use. Sharp as all heck, well balanced, and easy for my hands to grip and snip. A great purchase!

I’ve been hand shearing sheep for over 15 years. These are just as good as Jakoti’s but cheaper. The rounded tip is great at going into the wool without digging into the sheep. The spring reduces hand fatigue and after shearing 10–20 sheep a day, sometimes Lincolns with 13 inch heavy fleeces, that’s a game changer! They are EXTREMELY SHARP and stay that way a long time. They could easily take a finger off! Be careful with yourself and your sheep!
I sharpen my own and have used them for several years. I teach hand shearing to others and I highly recommend them in every class.
I started with electric shears that were heavy, hot and too loud, then to sewing scissors that leave blisters, then to Jakoti’s then I found these when Jakoti’s got hard to find for a decent price. Great hand shears, Great price!

These are the sharpest shears I have ever handled! They cut through dags with no effort at all, and they have reduced my shearing time per sheep. My only complaint is that the spring-loaded handle is too strong for me to use them for extended periods of time without significant hand fatigue.

I have used blades to finish wool show sheep for 40 years. I have several pairs that all needed sharpening, so I thought I would try these. They are very different to use, but they really cut well.
