I found these scissors to be very sharp and cut through the wool easily. I bought this one because it did not have the pointed tip... it is just slightly rounded. This was my first attempt at shearing sheep and I did not want a pointed tip to worry about. I found this tip still easily pierced through the thick locks of wool.

We absolutely love these shears. We bought them last year part way through the shearing season (we shear 50–60). This year they are still sharp and we had to buy a second pair so we wouldn’t fight over them! They are scary sharp but we adjusted quickly, and they are easy on your hands. Highly recommend!

These are wicked sharp, hold an edge and go thru even delted fleece like butter. Every bit as good as Jakoti for a lot less. As usual, Premier 1 is the premier resource for tools and equipment that WORK!

Somehow the slightly more rounded tip really seems to help it move through the wool better. My sheep seem to prefer this shear to the other brand one that it looks just like. It may be a softer metal, tho, because when a sheep got tangled in a honeylocust and I tried to use it to cut the honeylocust off the sheep, it dented the metal, and the wood was less than 1/4 inch thick. I hope they hold up for a few years, but at that price, I can afford to replace them every year if needed. Still cheaper than paying shearers to come out for my small flock.

This shear is handy for clipping weeds and cutting flowers.
