We find these much safer than metal and wire heat lamps. The lamps are mostly used in our lambing barn or chick brooders. Even though we find our lamps safer than others, we take every precaution to make sure our lamps stay safe. We secure them 20" or more above the lambs/kids (slightly lower for chicks), we wrap the cord around our panels and we clip them to the panels. It’s our experience that 175 watt bulbs produce enough heat for lambs and goat kids, while 250 watt bulbs are more suitable for poultry.

I love it. Easy to assemble has the extra long cord with the cover to keep chicks from getting to close to the bulb. I'm going back to order a second one for my other brooder.

I was pleasantly surprised by the large size of these heat lamps. The catalog pictures made them appear smaller.

Easy enough to assemble and much more secure than the common metal wire units. I appreciate the longer cord and the light cover so nothing will touch the heat bulb or get burnt.

Very high quality.

I bought 2 lamps after reading so many instances of barn fires being caused by heat lamps. I had the metal ones that are very flimsy. Although I haven't had an opportunity to put these to use yet, I feel much more at ease knowing I have a superior product that is sturdy and well manufactured. I'm anxious to try them out.

This is a very heavy duty, sturdy heat lamp and well worth the money. I have purchased the cheap flimsy, metal ones and they only last a couple of months and I worry that they are a fire hazard. This is a great product!

This is a great heat lamp. I have it securely in my little goat shed for my new babies. It gives me peice of mind because it is so safe. Never would own another kind. Also bought the clamp to hang it. The clamp is sturdy and cheaper here than anywhere else I have checked.
