We find these much safer than metal and wire heat lamps. The lamps are mostly used in our lambing barn or chick brooders. Even though we find our lamps safer than others, we take every precaution to make sure our lamps stay safe. We secure them 20" or more above the lambs/kids (slightly lower for chicks), we wrap the cord around our panels and we clip them to the panels. It’s our experience that 175 watt bulbs produce enough heat for lambs and goat kids, while 250 watt bulbs are more suitable for poultry.

Just took delivery of 3 more. Up to 10 fixtures now. It's -11 outside. We have 23 Boer kids 3 days old or less. All doing well. Peace of mind with it being all enclosed. Saves us $75-100 in bulbs per year. Kids used to break bulbs. Pays for itself.

These heat lamps are strong and durable. I had a fear of having heat lamps in the barn for risk of fire; however these alleviate that fear as they keep the heat bulb away far enough away from bedding etc but close enough to keep our lambs warm.

The best heat lamp on the market hands down. I feel safe having these heat lamps in my barn with my goats. They are hung securely from barn beams and I have never had an issue with them.

I'm impressed- sturdy, solid construction- so much safer than the metal heat lamps I have been using. I'll be purchasing more of these for sure. I had "speedee" deliver it, the shipping cost was low and it arrived very fast! Premiere 1 is a fantastic company, I'd recommend them to anyone.
