Common metal heat lamps are often blamed for barn fires, scorched wool and overheating. The “Prima” is better in every way—strength, safety, protective guard and hanging system.

New for 2026! Integrated Safety “Kill” Switch shuts itself off if the lamp is tilted at an unsafe angle, helping prevent accidents.

  • Safer* than other lamps
  • Versatile and effective—warm lambs, goat kids, chickens, ducks, puppies or any animal that is sick or cold
  • Heavy-duty plastic grill helps to prevent damage to bulbs and animals
  • Very robust!

We find these much safer than metal and wire heat lamps. The lamps are mostly used in our lambing barn or chick brooders. Even though we find our lamps safer than others, we take every precaution to make sure our lamps stay safe. We secure them 20" or more above the lambs/kids (slightly lower for chicks), we wrap the cord around our panels and we clip them to the panels. It’s our experience that 175 watt bulbs produce enough heat for lambs and goat kids, while 250 watt bulbs are more suitable for poultry.

I bought several Premier heat lamps last year. They work great! A cord needed replacement and I was so happy to find that I can order replacement parts instead of a new lamp. Thank you for taking this design approach.

Prima Heat Lamp is the best! It takes standard 250W heat lamp bulbs you can buy just about anywhere. I use these lamps to keep baby Nubian goats warm in the barn. They really enjoy the warmth these lights put off. The power cord on this lamp is long (close to 15') and the metal guard on the cord keeps the other goats from chewing it. I use metal clips and big plastic chain to hang it from the side wall and/or ceiling joist so they can’t knock it down and then adjust the height as needed. I bought one last year to try out and it’s still working great! This year I bought a couple more. These lamps are well made. This is a great product!

Good quality products! I purchased a Premier 1 heat lamp to replace the last one in our our chicken coop, which lasted over a decade. Order arrived very quickly and in perfect condition.
