I have tried many waters over the years and none ever worked well for long, until this one. Wow finally a waterer that held water and would not wear out in a season. I bought one fist at Tractor Supply, oh it looks the same on the outside but it is not the same, it took constant work to keep the water from running out. But yours just works all the time. One bit of cautaion would be to make sure the little valve that goes up in the hole is flat side up,not pointed side or water will run right through it. Also one thing I would change is to seal the float so water does not seep into that compartment. When its not working it is always the float has water in it. I bought this with the legs and I think the pan stays cleaner, but in the winter I took the legs off so it could sit on a heat pad and works great.

I was so excited to receive this product and sadly it didn't work for us at all. The water will not stop leaking, making the bucket useless. I have rebuilt this many times trying to get it to work. I have also tried it on many surfaces to make sure it want a leveling problem. Like another reviewer said the triangle piece does come out. I real try flying it and see if that helps, but my hopes are low. I am really bummed, I really wanted this product to work.

I ordered one of these to test several months ago and loved it so order a couple more for my mixed flock of chickens and ducks. I love it, but can't keep the handle locked into place, so just got rid of the handle. I lift it by the top lip and it works fine.

Love the ease of filling the large waterer. The legs were a little tricky to screw in though. My main gripe is the lid needs some kind of lock down system. We got high winds last night and I found the lid on the other side of the chicken yard. Too expensive of a product to have to purchase another lid for. Will have to bungee it on or something so I don't lose it!!

I did not get the legs for this waterer. I put them on milk crates or cinder blocks.
This item is very similar to the Tractor Supply waterer. The plastic of this waterer seems more rigid. I have mine exposed to sunlight, so I hope these have UV stabilizers. I think the Tractor Supply ones do not, and the lips started becoming brittle after a couple years of use outside.
Setup was fine. I did not like how the small triangle piece for in the base (for water regulation) was pressure fit in. It was too loose and kept popping out. I glued mine in so when I fill it, I eliminate the chance of loosing it in the lawn.
The inner ring is a 2 piece float similar to the Tractor Supply waterer I am replacing. They tend to fill with water over time and not release water appropriately. I fear this will happen with these, but it is nothing a little superglue wont fix.
The birds like them. They supply water. What is not to like?
