QuikClean Chick Brooder
Brood chicks up to 5–6 weeks of age. Chicks have freedom of movement within the secure brooder to move closer (or away from) their heat source, which can be either a heat lamp or heating plate. Slotted, wire floor allows feces to fall through to a removable collection tray.
- Hinged lid opens for easy access
- Quick, simple clean-up using the catch-all tray
- Keep your chicks warm using a heat lamp or a heating plate (up to 12" x 12")
- Keep chicks contained and protected from predators, even during their “flappy” stage
- Included heat lamp support provides 31-1/2" of clearance and can swivel when opening lid
All-in-one QuikClean Chick Brooder Kit arrives with the needed items to simplify your chick rearing. (Learn more below.)

The assembly needed two people but the final product is sturdy and safe for my chicks.

This was our first purchase from Premier 1. We bought three chick brooders that were a little expensive but we wanted something that would last. The boxes came crushed and broken open and between the three brooders there was only one complete hardware pack, the other two were missing a significant amount of the hardware and we had to go and buy another $20 worth to finish them with 60 chicks being delivered that day. Some of the rubber gaskets weren’t available to purchase so we have sharp edges exposed still on the legs. The trays in the bottom of the brooders don’t completely cover the open grate floor so some of the chick droppings fall beneath brooder to the ground along the back edge. This is a problem if they aren’t brooding outdoors. The wires that hold the hinge top open, rest inside when closed and one of my chicks got stuck in it so I have to pull them out and smash them under the lid to close it, to keep the chicks from getting stuck in them, they should be located on the outside of the brooder. The brooder is sturdy but our three week old chicks are almost too tall for it already, the interior should be a few inches taller to accommodate the growing chicks because we need to already find something else to put them in since they aren’t fully feathered and at this price it would have been nice to at least keep them there until they were old enough to be away from the heat lamp. It is sturdy and I like the hanging arm for the heat lamp because it swings wherever you need it so you can adjust the heat a bit. Also it’s very secure. I would be more likely to recommend it if it came complete and was a little taller inside or if you only had a few chicks but it’s pretty pricey for just a few chicks. We have had chickens for 8 years.

We got our first batch of 6 chicks ever a few weeks ago. Not realizing how fast they grow, they quickly out grew our make-shift brooder leaving me no time to build a top. Also, due to the weather we are keeping them in our mudroom so I was worried about the lamp holder we were using. So I went online and came across the QuickClean Brooder and it seemed to be the answer to all our issues!
Only issue we had while assembling it was that all the locking nuts for the assembly were missing. I reached out to Premier 1 to let them know and that I had planned on just picking up some from the local hardware store. Premier 1 stood behind their product and took care of me for my time and additional money I had to spend. Their customer service was awesome and I have no complaints!
Almost 2 weeks now and the chicks have really taken to their new brooder. And the lamp arm leaves me worry free!
For the first few days I put newspaper or cardboard down on grating and within a couple days they seemed to move around without any trouble. I also put a couple small branches from a tree in there for them to roost on. I line the tray with paper and that makes clean up extra easy and helps keep the smell down.
Overall, we are super happy with this product and plan to use it on any and all future birds.

This brooder is the best. I start hatching in the spring and this has made it much easier.

I love it! I put it on a table top. So much easier to care for chicks. I ordered a second one.
