SagStopper™ for Electric Netting
New! Lightweight fiberglass supports with slotted ends. Use many (or only a few) to prop up loose netting.
For most, sagging net is a cosmetic problem, not a functional one. At worst, excessive sagging may reduce the “shock” effect when lower electrified stands make contact with the ground. SagStopper™ solves both problems.
Benefits:
- Easy to install/remove
- Slotted nocks on either end tension the net vertically; for best results, weave the support into the net’s mesh
- Reduces the effect of lower strands coming in contact with grass, helping to maintain adequate voltage
Specs
- 47.25" length, 7mm (0.28") diameter
- Fiberglass with polyester surface veil (protects skin!)
Installation
- Select a location midway between line posts.
- Insert the top horizontal strand into one nock of the SagStopper.
- Weave the support between the horizontal strands of the netting. This helps to improve stability in the wind.
- Insert the other nock into the lower horizontal net strand.

We find SagStoppers provide the most benefit on “standard” nets—those with 10' to 12' between line posts. Be aware, each support will add to the overall weight of the fence. For those moving fences often, it may quickly turn into a two person job. Those leaving their fences in place for a longer duration will benefit the most.

These are easy to use and work great! I think they should be added to all of the fence kits.

I just doubled the size of my fence and bought a pack of SagStoppers. They work really well. The longer fence runs are made for these. The longer the run the more the terrain varies and the harder it is to keep the fence taut. They are simple to install and make the fence look much better. I highly recommend! I wish I bought them a few years ago.

It’s great having chickens. They are fun to watch, feed, raise and of course a nice supply of eggs. Downside is, they like watching YOU too and will do so from your front door while looking in the door and pooping on your porch. They also think of themselves as excellent gardeners. They will weed and till any patch of dirt that you have already tilled, and planted and liked the looks of your new seedlings which the chickens regard as weeds OR delectable.
So I bought electric fencing and rounded them up. I do miss them knocking on the front door. I don’t miss pressure washing the porch three times a week AND my garden looks great. However, my land isn’t flat and it shows in the fenching in between posts. In some areas the bottom wires ride the ground and that means the top wires have slack. I have standoffs for the bottom wires to keep them from shorting out keeping my runs at the 10,000 volts advertised by the energizer. But the tops sag and don’t offer the 48" of protection.
I was going to purchase and make rails to fit in next to the standoffs out of PVC and came upon these Premier 1 SagStoppers for 48" tall nets. They are made with rubber tips designed with the fencing wires in mind and fiberglass rods making them stiffer then the PVC I was going to use. Also, I didn’t have to figure out a method of keeping the PVC in place. Just 20 of these put my fence back in full extension along the waffle potato chip sections of my 500 feet run at a price cheaper then the PVC I was going to use. NICE!
Save your chickens. Save your garden. Save yourself cleaning time! (man, can they poop...)

I use PoultryNet as the fence that surrounds my garden. I’ve never had deer in my garden, but I have been annoyed by the snapping sound where the center of the post sags. I thought about purchasing extra rods that actually push in the ground—but this new product works just as well at half the price! I don’t hear the snapping anymore and the fence looks better than ever!
