I have had chickens for 12 years and I love these feeders. These are the only ones that have held up the whole time.
Dawne C from South Carolina
It’s wonderful and would be five star if the top stayed on bit better. Otherwise, I love it!
Sharon W from Colorado
Our chickens used to scratch around in their food pan, scattering grain onto the floor. The new feeder has cut down the amount of food that was wasted and eaten by mice. We have 3 large hens, and the 3 lb feeder is wide enough that all 3 can gather around it to eat. If we had more hens, I would go with the larger size.

The cone in the center does not cause the feed to go into the feeding tray. I manually shook it to get it to go down. I was feeding annuals to young chicks inside. I use wood shavings on the flour to prevent moisture, in a well ventilated house.

The 3 pound size came with the Poultry Starter Kit. The chick feed will NOT come down to the trough as the chickens eat. It just does not have enough space to get through. We had to take off the lid and spoon out the food into the trough until I could get to the local farm store for a different feeder. For new hatchlings I suggest, strongly, that you just take a jar lid and put feed in that. Although it will spill, the tiny chicks will not have to struggle at all to get the food, which is important for their first few days.
