How to Use
- Ensure that both testicles are pulled down.
- Only clamp one testicle cord in the scrotum at a time.
- When doing second side, slide the side crusher down a little. You do not want the opposing marks to meet.
Precautions
- Never clamp the entire scrotum with single squeeze and never allow the opposing marks (one from each side) to meet.
- Do not leave pliers closed. This will relax the crush on the pliers.
- Make sure that you crush the cord above the testicle. Crushing the testicle will cause swelling.

I have recently started with goats. This year is my first with babies. I did a lot of searching to find a crimp tool instead of banding. This tool was the best appearing that I could find with not having used any before. It was easy to use. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but quality does cost a little more.

Earlier I had written a comment more than a review and I had rated this item as a one star because I ordered it based on a recommendation from a goat site saying that this tool did not have gaps on the sides. The one I got had gaps and that was the reason for the one star. I was contacted by this company and explained that the gaps were to prevent from pinching or tearing the skin. Makes sense. I have since used this tool on my two baby bucks and it worked well. I have yet to see if I worked it well though. It was difficult to make sure the cords did not migrate to the offside edge of the tool into the gap. After some slight struggles I was able to I think get the tubes centered and applied the crimp. Time will tell if I was able to do my part or not. Thanks for the quick response to explain the tool.

Good quality. Worked well on mini nubian bucklings. A bit small for 90 day old katahdin ram lamb, but still clamped down well.

I just used this to castrate 4-week old lambs, and I love it. The lambs did not seem to feel much of anything past the first pinch, and were up and running around immediately, with seemingly no after effects. I have used the bands in the past, and stopped because there was too much down time, and it took weeks for the testicles to fall off. This was easy to use (after watching a video), and took 20 seconds per lamb. I will never use anything else!

I have two Nigerian Dwarf bucklings that both needed to be wethered. This was my first time performing this procedure. It went very smooth. I looked at other emasculatomes, but decided on the Side Crusher because it seemed to be a quality piece and easier to visualize what you are doing. It was a bit on the expensive side for just two goats, but it was worth it to know I was using a quality tool in the most humane way possible on my little guys.
