How to Use
Shepherd’s Choice® Management Tip
After 2 months of age for lambs or 3 months of age for goat kids, switch to normal grower/finisher ration. Keep feed fresh by only offering very small amounts early on. Provide a constant supply of clean, fresh water.Precautions
CAUTION: Feed Lamb Starter only to lambs and Kid Starter only to goat kids. DO NOT feed Kid Starter to lambs (contains toxic copper quantities to lambs).
CAUTION: Use as directed. This product has been formulated specifically for the target species (either lambs or goat kids) and is not intended for other species. Follow label directions. Feeding this feed containing added selenium at levels higher than recommended is not permitted. DO NOT feed to lactating ewes/goats.
Lambs and kids do not have fully functioning rumens until at least 30 days of age so the use of hay pre-weaning should be limited to very high quality hay and maybe only the last week before weaning. Once lambs/kids are eating .15 pounds of dry feed per day they can be weaned completely from milk replacer to dry feed only. Abrupt weaning is the best method of weaning off milk replacer. Continue limiting the amount of hay to .1 pound per head per day. Animals may go backwards for a day or two but will quickly recover and by normal weaning age for the operation, should be as big or bigger than their herd mates raised by ewes/does.
WARNING: DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP/GOATS PRODUCING MILK FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.

My lambs are doing great on this feed. I will continue to order from Premier 1 because they have a great product for reasonable prices.

“Don’t knock it unless you’ve tried it.” I have not used it yet. I do like the small size pellets, it should be easy for lambs to start on it. Customer service is great and “SpeeDee Delivery“.
Rebecca W from California
We really like this feed for our bummer lambs. We give it to them until they are around 2 months old then switch to a lower protein feed that we can get locally. Keeps Coccidia under control.
