How to Use
- Insert conductor through guard at the front of the reel.
- Loop conductor in a figure 8 pattern between the parallel metal wires that run across the spool (this promotes metal to metal contact between the reel and the conductor).
- Place the spool of conductor in a 5 gallon bucket or similar container.
- Begin winding until desired amount of conductor is on the reel.
- Tuck loose conductor into spooled conductor (on reel) to hold in place
- Jump power to/from the reel via connecting a Powerlink to the metal loop on the handle side of the reel.

Great value and great product. We own 6 or 8 reels now and use every one almost daily and they hold up to some pretty rough use.

Good 3-to-1 reels for the money.

I’ve been using the EzeReel XL with 1320' spools of IntelliBraid 3.0. If you roll it tight, the 3.0 “will” fit on the Strainrite reels, but with any quick unspooling, it runs right off the edge. I rotationally graze my herd of cattle, so am moving lines weekly. The EzeReel’s, with remaining twine, can be held up on 3 fiberglass posts with harp clips and the neckband, but the Strainrite reel needs to be held by a wire fence. You don’t realize the benefit of the neck band of the EzeReel until you don’t have it. Holding the weight of the Strainrite reel in one hand and reeling it up as tightly as possible in order to fit, is a challenge. I am going to replace the Strainrite’s, but I do see them as being beneficial for my short, cross-pasture runs where I can empty them each time. I like the product, it is well built, but has a limited application with my grazing methods. My rating of 3 stars is not a knock on Strainrite or Premier, the reel just doesn’t meet my needs and I would caution anyone as to the true benefits of this if you are doing frequent, long length winding applications.

I am part of the reason a star is deducted. I overfilled too much wire on the spool. I didn’t wind it on tight enough. It tangled. That’s an understatement. The reel however does not have the ability to slip the spool off. This meant two nights of trying to unwind and unknot the wire around the handle. A painful lesson leaned for me but one I wouldn’t have even needed on the other reels I bought. In contrast, the Premier reel has a cotter pin that allows the spool to slip out.
