Heavy-duty claw-style insulator from Strainrite Fencing Systems for securing electric fence wire to wood posts. The JouleShield™ design improves insulation performance while holding fence wire firmly in place.

- Pinlock vs. Claw — What’s the difference?
- Pinlock insulators are generally easier to work with. The wire conductor can be inserted or removed quickly by pulling the pin, even with some tension on the line. This allows for faster, simpler adjustments and repairs.
Claw-style insulators trade that convenience for durability. With no small pin to break, they offer a more rugged hold and are better suited for high-stress areas where long-term strength matters more than quick adjustments.

Well made and stronger than other brands of similar design. I use these to mount standard mesh fencing so it can be electrified with the top wire strand to keep bears out.
