I would like to give an update on using this crook for about a month. I had to catch sheep for spring breeding, yesterday it was in the rain. Today was humid, crook stretch to being unusable and then cracked. It works great on dry days, but it is really very important to not let it get wet even for an hour. If I get another one, it will be for sorting and catching only on dry days.

I used this crook to catch 3 full grown Texel ewes over the weekend in the rain. A few comments.
First the crook size is small for my bigger ewes. I had two others snagged, but not hooked. I may “stretch” the crook a half inch to make it work. The other issue is that the finish did not hold up to the rain at all. I would recommend treating it with some Murphy’s Oil before use as whatever protectant that comes on it starts to peel and flake almost immediately.
Otherwise, I really like it. Helps me sort sheep, catch lambs and some of the smaller ewes.

Grandson did chores for me for three days and would not accept any pay. So I gave him this crook. He was excited to get it! He said, “He never saw one like it.” Great customer service and “SpeeDee Delivery”.

The crook was good, just was not tall enough for the use I need it for. I will find something to do with it though.

Neck crook is terrible. It will barely fit around the neck of my mature boer does. Some I cannot even catch with it because it is too small.
