How to Use
Mixing directions:
Dry powder should be weighed to determine recommended amount. Measuring cup with each bag holds approximately 4 oz. dry powder. For best mixability, whisk powder with hot water (125°-135°F). Do not exceed 140°F. If the water is too hot you will damage the milk proteins (Maillard chemical reaction), which are essential to kid performance.
- Mix 4 oz. of dry powder with 1-1/2 pints (24 oz.) of water.
- For larger batches, mix 1-1/3 lbs. of dry powder with 1 gallon of water.
Heat 1/3 of the volume of water needed to 125°-135°F and mix with dry powder. Whip with wire whisk until all product is dissolved. Add remaining cold water to complete the mixture.
Feeding directions:
- For restricted hand feeding with bottle:
- Feed reconstituted milk at 100°F according to the following schedule:
- Day 1-2 — colostrum
- Day 3-4 — 1/3 pint (5 oz.) of solution 3 times per day
- Day 5-9 — 1/2 pint (8 oz.) of solution 3 times per day
- Day 10-13 — 3/4 pint (12 oz.) of solution 3 times per day
- Day 14 thru weaning — 1 to 1-1/2 pints of solution 2 times per day
- For cold ad lib feeding with free access feeders:
- Allow reconstituted milk to cool to room temperature (68°-72°F) before feeding. This will discourage kids from gorging and prevent over-eating. A one day supply can be mixed at one time.
Baby goats can be weaned at 6-10 weeks of age, providing that they weigh approx. 25 lbs.
Tips
- Always keep goat kids in a well-ventilated, draft free area.
- Provide all newborns with colostrum replacement during the first 6 hours of life to provide concentrated nutrients and passive immunity to diseases.
- Provide fresh water at all times.
- Provide creep feed when kids reach one week of age; keep fresh daily.
- Provide good quality roughage when kids reach one week of age.
- If goat kids are weak and unable to suck, feed using a stomach tube.
- Clean all feeding utensils and equipment after each feeding: Rinse in lukewarm water, wash with a detergent in hot water, rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

Warning: Do not feed to goats producing milk for food. This product contains copper—do not feed to lambs.

I’ve gone through one 45 lb bag and I’m working on a second bag now. I’m giving this milk replacer 4 stars because the kids are growing well on it and I have not had any issues with scours or constipation while using it.
That said, the replacer isn’t perfect. It does clump up when mixing and I need to let it sit for 5-10 minutes before the clumps can be mixed in. Also there is some settling of a gritty light brown material which I suspect is the mineral pack. Due to the settling I’m not sure if I would trust to use this replacer in a bucket feeder. It’s easy enough to shake up in a bottle, but I worry the kids will be missing something with the bucket feeder.

I have used one 45 lb bag and I am on a second bag. Neither bag had a measuring cup in it even though it says there is one in there. I had to find something at my house that was close as weighing out the milk replacer each time makes a mess and takes too much time. when you are feeding different batches of kids different times and amounts during the day. I also the think the three time a day feedings suggested are not working for my Kiko goats kids. I have had a couple get scours and they are not doing quite as well as kids on their dams. I have to pull kids due to a disease removal program or I wouldn't be bottle feeding very many kids.
It took me a while to figure out that if I mix the milk replacer up then let it sit for a minute or two and mix it again that it doesn't stick to the inside of the bottles. So I mix the milk replacer up in a big bowl then I get my bottle caps and nipples together and then I whisk the milk replacer again and then I put it in the bottles. Since I am feeding 9 to 11 kids at a time getting the bottle caps and nipples together gives the replacer time to hydrate for a lack of a better term and it makes a foam on top that I mix back in. All the lumps are gone then and everything cleans up much easier.
This is a reasonably priced product. It does mix up well once you figure it out. And figure out the feeding schedule that works for your kids.

I was recommended this milk replacer by a goat friend. Was an easy transition for my kids and they seek to be holding their own regarding weight and health compared to dam raised kids. 1 star deduction as no measuring cup included to get accurate measurement of particular powder. Otherwise seems like a very good product and I like the size of bag.
