Note: The exact number of birds to water is difficult to determine as there are many factors that influence intake; salt and protein levels in the diet, humidity, temperature, productivity (growth or egg production) and the birds ability to process feed and water.

Exactly what I expected. Works terrific! Top locks into bottom base. No flipping required. I wish it had legs.

This is by far the best waterer I have ever used! Designed by a genius! So easy to fill from the top, and there are no messy spills! I love it and I highly recommend it!

Absolutely love this waterer! It is so convenient and easy to handle even with one hand.

After 8 years and almost as many different types of chicken waterers, I have found one I can finally rely on. The classic galvanized double wall waterer has one inherent weak area in it's design, inevitable rust through. This waterer fixes that. If kept out of direct sunlight, it should last for a decade or longer. No floats to fail, no tipping upside down, no catastrophic spills, no rust, just a simple fail proof design.
I found that the base of this waterer fits perfectly on an upside down dual wheel hubcap (chrome plated plastic), holding it at about the right height for adult chickens. For cold weather, an 8x8x8 half cinder block with a 100 watt light bulb fixed inside works as a good heated base for it.
I hope they continue to make this waterer for many years.

Not quite as well engineered as the old galvanized waterers, but it’s working out fine sitting on the ground. Issues: Drinking trough fills immediately and the top does not lock in place. I wouldn’t trust it as a hanging waterer. Mine sits on a riser for young birds.
