Tri-Pod Waterer, 8 gal
Large-volume waterer for those who tire of frequently refilling small waterers.
To keep the water clean, it has 3 legs that elevate the waterer off the ground or bedding.
Instructions/Diagrams:
Specs
- Capacity: 8 gallon
- Suited for: adults
- Height: 22"
- Number of birds: 100
- Waterfowl: yes
- Base sits 5.5" above the ground
Note: The exact number of birds to water is difficult to determine as there are many factors that influence intake; salt and protein levels in the diet, humidity, temperature, productivity (growth or egg production) and the birds ability to process feed and water.
How to Use
- Fill from top with a hose.
- Make sure valve is closed when filling.
- Once full, screw the cap back on and open the valve to enable the water to flow. Water will stop on its own due to vacuum seal.
- Water fill level is high so be sure to set it on flat ground to avoid spillage.

Not sure why anyone would recommend. Even on a complete even surface which is hard to find anywhere: it leaks, overfills, stops filling up, hard to control by the knob on bottom, clogs easily and is hard to clean. I have to fill it almost everyday. Should have only bought one to test it.

It does not stop filling up on the bottom and so the water just runs out. Very disappointing.

My ducks love this waterer. The dish holding the water is deep enough to submerge their bills, but small enough to deter them from using it as a pool. It keeps a fresh supply of water available for days.

We bought this waterer as we have just had so much trouble with other waterers. This is a good design but it has a few flaws. The first is I believe the bottom spout should be 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer into the bowl which would alleviate the need to engineer a perfectly level spot to place it. It is frustrating to have the water fill to the brim then start slowly leaking over the low side. Next is cleaning it, algae is a problem here, it's hot and humid. The waterer is never in the sun but algae comes fast. The turn on/off valve needs to be removed to clean the algae from the inside of the valve and in the bottom of the spout. I agree with others that the to top opening should be larger to facilitate cleaning it as the algae is in there as well. Maybe you can make a special brush tool to get in there? We are now using apple vinegar but at 1/2 tablespoon per gallon as the chickens turn their noses if we do the 1 tablespoon ratio. If these improvements are made this would be the perfect waterer. Even though I was critical it is a well made product and would recommend it with provisos of adding instructions for removing the on/off valve and how to level and clean the product. If I had the time I would do a video showing these procedures. Also as a general comment I think your assembly videos should have women putting your products together.

Best waterer for any poultry!
