Seems good so far. Haven't had to refill in a week!

love the fact that it holds so much water but you need to rethink the cleaning process. almost impossible to do. having to use a high pressure hose and it makes a terrible mess. had to run a hose to every pen cause it's not easy for a 120 lb female to carry very far, full of water!!! thanks and enjoyed reading all of te other reviews!!

I have gone thru so many waterers till I found this one. I use mine outside and in a large barn where my chickens live. It is easy to fill. It is easy for the birds to use. It holds plenty of water. The chickens do not poop in it or scratch stuff into it. They are great for my free range chickens.

FANTASTIC!!!! The water stays clean. I don't have to give them water everyday. I have three chickens and the water lasts for at least 4 days. But I only fill it 1/3 of the way. Just so they get fresh water every so many days. But, I know if I go out of town, they will have plenty of water.

I ordered this waterer as I thought it would FINALLY solve the problem of dirty water siphoning back into the tank on previous waters I have tried. Other than going to pvc pipe and nipple drinkers how can I have constant clean water for the poultry? I still do not understand how the dirty water in the bowl can travel UP into the tank on this model. I have ducks that quickly dirty any waterer. What a disappointment to find the water in the tank just as dirty as the water in the bowl!! No one else mentioned this problem. The second problem is as others have stated, the top opening is too small. How are you supposed to scrub the tank out???? And I agree that it must be level or water will continue to run out over the bowl. The bottom valve even when in the "closed" position still lets water through, making filling in a coop a mess. And yes, water weighs 8# per gallon so it is very cumbersome to carry.
That said I like that it is off the ground but this does not prevent chickens from kicking bedding into the bowl. I like that it holds 8 gallons. It needs some design work to function better for the human, birds seem to use it without a problem.
I must say that everything else I have ordered from Premier is outstanding, their shipping and packing are superior too.
