Hand-powered sheep and goat milking machine makes lambing and kidding season easier on your hands and the teats of your ewes and does.
A few pumps creates a seal allowing the teat valve to open and release milk. The flow is not rapid, but effective.

Milker Kit includes:
- Udderly EZ™ Pump
- 8 oz Bottles (2)
- 16 oz Bottle
- Bottle Nipple (color may vary). This teat fits right on the Udderly EZ bottle of your choice. No more having to milk in one bottle and then transferring the milk or colostrum to another bottle for feeding. What this means is no more cross contamination from bottles.
- Small Silicone Insert (green) with #2 Extraction Tube
- Medium Silicone Insert (blue) with #2 Extraction Tube
- Teat Wipes
- Towel, microfiber
Tips
How to Use
- Always, clean the udder area, using the Udderly EZ Wipes provided in your kit, to remove any accumulated dirt and bacteria.
- Gently remove the wax plug from the end of the teat so it does not drop into the bottle.
- Manually strip each teat at least twice to get a good flow of milk started. Dampen each teat or use bag balm to help secure vacuum.
- Place the cylinder directly over the teat and gently lift the pump unit against the udder.
- Squeeze the handle at least 2-3 times, this will start the vacuum seal process, locking the unit onto the animal's udder. You may want to hold bottle with free hand and tilt inward or towards the top of the pump until sealed.
- As soon as the milk flow starts, stop pumping! When the flow slows or stops, start pumping again. You may need to repeat this sequence 3-4 times.
- To release the vacuum on the pump, push bottle backwards toward hand trigger to release vacuum lock. Do not pull pump off udder.
- The first milking will generally collect between 8-12 ounces of colostrum, although this may vary with each animal species or breed.
- If the mother does not let her milk down immediately, you may have to massage her udder gently to get the flow started. Push the entire pump and bottle up into the bag (like a baby bunting it's mom while nursing) and let the weight settle back down and be careful not to break the vacuum seal.
- Do not overfill the collection bottle, only fill to the indicated line on the bottle. Never tilt pump backwards. This will allow the milk or colostrum to run into the air intake hole and damage the diaphragm in the pump.
- Place the nipple directly onto the bottle and feed directly to the newborn. All our bottles are Freezer safe, just apply cap and place in freezer. DO NOT THAW OUT IN MICROWAVE!

I am writing this review based on usage of this product for our cow instead of sheep/goats because the pump is the same for all species.
We purchased and used two Udderly EZ milkers for our milk cow. We bought two thinking we could use them both at the same time and cut down the time it takes to milk. This did work for a couple months before the problems started. We just kept having parts break. The little rubber valves don't last too long and are expensive to replace. Both our handles broke within a short amount of time. These are also expensive to replace. The bottle clip on one broke, so we went down to using one pump with the working bottle clip. Then, the back part of the pump blew out. It was only connected by flimsy plastic clips and these just wore down and finally snapped off. So I duct taped the back of the pump on and this worked ok. Kept having to replace the duct tape though as it would lose tightness after a few washings. Then it got to the point where I could not tape it on tight enough to create the vacuum. We started using the other pump and the same thing happened to it. Now the whole setup is basically worthless as I am not forking over another $100 to replace the pump. This all happened within 4-6 months.
I think these are neat little milkers, but probably should be used more for backup milking if power is out, or colostrum collection only. Their website states these milkers can be used for daily milking, but we have not found this to be the case. We could have bought a small bucket milker for the money we have put into the Udderly EZ. Would not recommend for daily milking. Oddly enough, I was most worried about having to replace bottles. We only lost one bottle during those 4-6 months. The bottles do seem to hold up well but are useless without the rest of the assembly.

I use the milker to milk out a ewe or get colostrum when I do not want to upset them. They usually do not fight the milker. However, it is quite a lot slower than hand milking. My husband never uses it for this reason.
The bottle clip is not durable and seems to get more brittle with age. I find the bottles hard to clean, and the bottle cap liners and bottle seals are not ideal.
Works fairly well, but pricey for occasional use.

The Udderly EZ Milker is a great tool for collecting colostrum if time is important to you and if you do not want to be frustrated by ewes who do not want to be milked out by hand.
It could be built to be more durable. The clip that holds the bottle breaks more easily than ideal—especilly if cold. However, I would not be without one.

I bought this last month and its the best money I ever spent. I can milk each mini-oberhasli goat in less than five minutes. They are more relaxed than with hand milking. I can be sure I am getting the last little bit out so they don't get mastitis.

I am not sure how I went all of these years without this product! It is GREAT. It was easy to use and fast. It didn't appear to cause the ewe any discomfort and in no time I had 8 oz. of colostrum. I was able to come back a few hours later and get another 8 oz.
With the price of lambs at an all time high, saving just one pays for this handy item.
