3-Season Poultry Waterer
Product Details
A top-fill waterer for the whole flock.
It’s an unheated version of our best-in-class Heated Poultry Waterer, but with drinking cups instead of horizontal nipples. Birds can drink deeply (rather than small sips) to stay hydrated on hot days and to dip and cool their wattles.
Key Features:
- 3 gallon capacity
- Translucent basin for at-a-glance water level checks
- Bowl drinkers automatically fill cups. Valve stops water flow once full.
- Secure, interlocking lid with handle for carrying and hanging
- Hinged quick-fill cap is just the right size for a garden hose. Refill without removing the lid!
Issues that have been reported to us:
- Overtightened bowls result in stripped threads
- Defective bowls may overfill
- Bowl attachment is too fragile; rough bumps and jostles from birds affect longevity

Loved it at first, however all it does is leak all the time, every time. No wonder they sent three backup cups. I have gone through all of them. Very disappointed.

I bought this 3-Season Poultry Waterer for my hens while I work on getting some power and leaking issues taken care of for the heated version I also have. This waterer is built well and just like the heated waterer, one of the best features is the quick fill cap on the lid. I have the waterer hanging from a chain and the quick fill cap just makes things easier than having to take it down from the chain and fill it. I will say, that although my hens have used the drinking cups in the past and done well with them, I wasn’t thrilled as they have a tendency to get dirty and clog up faster than the nipples do. The hens are used to them now. I always keep extra nipples on hand, so I did not use the cups and installed nipples instead.
I like that the water bucket is transparent just enough to see the water level from my kitchen window and back deck. I’ve had no issues with extra algae growth and it does hang in full view of the morning to midday sun.
Besides the leaking nipple issues with the heated waterer I have, which I’m positive I will remedy, I give both of these products 5 stars!! I feel like I’ve finally found the end to my struggle of having to buy MANY other waterers and found the right ones in Premier 1 chicken waterers.
Customer service is the best at Premier 1 too!

My ONLY issue is that the narrow waterway for the cups can get clogged. I am not even sure with what, but even with daily water change I’ve had to disassemble the cups and try to clean them out. I say “try” because there is no way to put a pin or wire through the waterway, it’s at a funny angle. But I have blasted water through it and for now that works. The rubber gasket has to be tightened and loosened to find the right fit so that water gets through but it doesn’t leak. I’ve never been able to open the hose port at the top, it’s just jammed on there. I just take the whole lid off. It works for now but I wish the design was better and that it could work in the winter. This would NEVER work in freezing temps.

My ladies love this waterer! They never caught on well to using the heated version with the nipples. All they would do was peck at those nipples and never could get sufficient water! This unheated version they figured out how to drink from immediately and they love using the drinking cups. I did have to replace one of the cups as the threads got stripped and it leaked all the water out, but they provide extra cups so changing it out took minutes and no more leaks! And I did have to figure out a way to get the water cups clean as dirt does collect in them. So I pick up the unit by the top handle and turn it right to left very quickly a few times and the cups empty out along with the dirt so clean water can enter. Takes a few seconds and works well, as long as the lid is on tight. Also I love being able to see the water level. The port to add water works with not only a hose but a water jug pours in there well to refill it. It is a quality made unit, unlike other waterers I've owned. I highly recommend it. My birds find it very easy to use for daily hydration!

With the body of this waterer being translucent I expect algae to grow during the warm months. I never worry about that with my other Premier 1 drinker. We shall see.
