Tips

Preparing the Animal for Clipping

  • Remove the dirt from the hair first. If this is not done, expect accelerated blade wear and a reduction in animals clipped between blade sharpenings in exact proportion to the amount of dirt present. The benefits of dirt removal prior to clipping cannot be over-emphasized. Example: Those who wash their lambs prior to clipping often clip 20–30 club lambs between sharpenings. Those who don’t and have lambs with sand and soil in the wool often clip less than two lambs between sharpenings.
  • Washing the animal with soap and water removes the most dirt. If this is not practical, use a high power vacuum or blower to remove as much dirt as possible from the hair or wool.
  • Restrain the animal. Few animals like the sound of a clipper or the feel of vibration on their skin. When they react to either without warning, accidents can and will happen. Therefore, for the sake of you, your animal and your clipper, restrain the animal properly prior to clipping.

Precautions
Important: Lubricate the clipper head! Insufficient lubrication of the clipper head results in overheating of the clipper blades and clipper. This can lead to a reduced durability of clipper and blades, as well as a reduction of the battery runtime.

During clipping, routinely add a few drops of white clipping oil to the blades’ teeth every 2–3 min. Lubricate the blades again before storage.

If spare parts are used during the life of this product, please ensure that they are genuine Premier 1 parts. Failure to use genuine Premier 1 parts may reduce the performance of this product and will void any warranty claim.

We tested 900cl Cordless Clipper on our livestock guardian dogs and were impressed. It powered through their dense undercoats better than other leading clipper manufacturers. Most battery-operated machines we’ve tested don’t have the power or torque of similar corded units. And the machines that do are expensive. The 900cl addresses both concerns.

Premier’s staff also shared a pre-production unit with leading fitters at the North American Livestock Expo in Louisville. Comments included: “Awesome run time”, “Superb for the make-ready area”, and “Love its price!”

These are the BEST clippers! I can shave one goat on one battery easily. The detachable blades are the way to go. It is quiet and does not startle goats or annoy me after shaving 6 goats. I highly recommend these over other brands.

Highly recommend. I’m a professional dog groomer and was about to spend $500 on another cordless clipper after being disappointed by the Oster Volt. I’m so glad I gave this one a try. It doesn’t replace my corded clippers, but wow!

Be sure to read everything because what says “set” really means 1 clipper head. I think they put it like that to get you to buy them and then no matter what you have to pay anywhere from 12 to 20 dollars to send back depending on weight but it could cost more. I feel that that’s how they are making the money for this company by making u pay to even send the clippers back but didn’t state that from the beginning. My advice to anyone buying these clippers would be to call and talk to someone before making a purchase and that way if you’re not satisfied you aren’t paying to send them back when you realize it isn’t what u expect. They have to answer your questions but make sure to record conversation if you do decide to buy. Yes they’re loud but my biggest issue is the customer service. Anyway, I would rather keep the clippers than give them anymore money and just find my own place to get them sharpened. They’ll b added to the clippers I use when my favs are dead but I would not recommend to any groomer wether new or old. If anyone reading has a person who sharpens their clipper blades that u would recommend please feel free to comment. Anyway keep searching and make sure to read everything before purchasing.
