I attached the leg crook to a mop handle, I used it on few of my goats and sheep. It worked great. I took it with me over to a friend's place to help him trim his goats hooves, he loved it & I give it to him.

Overall I am pretty happy with this. I bought it to go on the butt end of the sweetwood crook, so as to have a neck and a leg hook on the same tool.
Suffice it to say that it works, I can hook the read leg with a little less effort than hooking a neck.
The cons are that it really doesn't fit snuggly on this crook. It rocks back and forth because it's opening is wider than the crook I bought to put it on. I guess that's no one's fault, nowhere does it say that it was especially designed for this particular crook.
And despite the rocking, it does work, but I believe that, after a lot of use, this rocking is going to take its toll.

I ordered this crook head a year ago. I worked wonderfully. BUT....The last time I used it, the actual hook broke off! I don't mean the shaft broke off in the head. I mean the hook broke clean off where it meets the collar that goes around the shaft. I don't know if the entire piece is cast, or if it is welded, but it appears to be a weak spot. I only have 7 sheep and have used the crook no more than 20 times (catching for shearing and then at lamb weaning). The crook was even stored inside shelter. Basically, it had no abuse and was used far less than I would assume it is designed for. I am rather disappointed.

An excellent additional tool, worth the cost!
