Bear QuikFence® 12/35/12
When properly electrified, this netting protects beehives and campsites from bears.
Bear QuikFence has drivable posts (.75" dia.) are much stronger and stiffer than standard line posts and can be pounded in with a dead-blow hammer or mallet. Fence installs easily in hard/frozen soils as well as soft soils. Pushing in posts is no longer necessary.
It can be set up as a Pos/Neg fence. What does this accomplish? Eliminates the need for the soil to carry pulse back to the energizer's ground rod—this method provides superior results when soils are dry.
It can be set up as a positive/negative (Pos/Neg) fence for high resistance fencing conditions.

* Pos/Neg (PN) fences are recommended where the soil is very dry and/or the animals do not ground well. Two clips are used at each end. One is hooked to the energizer, the second should be connected to a ground rod.
Drivable Posts (DP) For those who find it too hard to push single-spike or step-in double-spike posts into the soil. If double-spike posts cause frustration (from tangling)—drivable posts can provide relief.
- Instead of dividing downward force (from hammer) over 2 spikes, using a single spike directs it to 1—this makes insertion into hard soils easier.
- Single spikes do not tangle (as double spikes are prone).
- #205100 - $1.73 per ft (100' roll with single spike posts).
- #205050 - $2.74 per ft (50' roll with single spike posts).
Tip: When using Pos/Neg fencing, a PowerLink (see Accessories above) is recommended to attach the negative lead to the ground rod.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

I have had the fence for a bit more than a week and it is operating very well. The set up was simple and fast. A big thank you to Premier for an exceptional product and customer service.

It’s a good fence, only major issue is it doesn’t have a gate. You must keep moving one of the end poles away from each other so you can walk into the fenced in area. Was told they are working on one and once it’s approved and working this would make an excellent fence. You will need stronger poles to support the support that comes with the fence.

I ordered the net and energizer after seeing a bear tearing up a hive. The net sets up easily and quickly. That was important since the bear appeared while I was setting up the net and I had to change plans for moving the hives from a temporary location to back to the bee yard. (FYI bears can get a hive out of a tractor bucket raised 8' off the ground) I added extra step in posts mid span of the netting supports. No more bear problem. The instructional video helped me decide to purchase the netting.
