Bear QuikFence® 12/35/12
When properly electrified, this netting protects beehives and campsites from bears.
Bear QuikFence has drivable posts (.75" dia.) are much stronger and stiffer than standard line posts and can be pounded in with a dead-blow hammer or mallet. Fence installs easily in hard/frozen soils as well as soft soils. Pushing in posts is no longer necessary.
It can be set up as a Pos/Neg fence. What does this accomplish? Eliminates the need for the soil to carry pulse back to the energizer's ground rod—this method provides superior results when soils are dry.
Common Uses
It can be set up as a positive/negative (Pos/Neg) fence for high resistance fencing conditions.

* Pos/Neg (PN) fences are recommended where the soil is very dry and/or the animals do not ground well. Two clips are used at each end. One is hooked to the energizer, the second should be connected to a ground rod.
Benefits
Drivable Posts (DP) For those who find it too hard to push single-spike or step-in double-spike posts into the soil. If double-spike posts cause frustration (from tangling)—drivable posts can provide relief.
How?
- Instead of dividing downward force (from hammer) over 2 spikes, using a single spike directs it to 1—this makes insertion into hard soils easier.
- Single spikes do not tangle (as double spikes are prone).
Cost
- #205100 - $1.73 per ft (100' roll with single spike posts).
- #205050 - $2.74 per ft (50' roll with single spike posts).
Installation
Tip: When using Pos/Neg fencing, a PowerLink (see Accessories above) is recommended to attach the negative lead to the ground rod.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

This fence is easy to install with two people. Just don't get frustrated when your first attempt to have the fencing unroll as ours was a bit tied up but once we found the one wire that was wacky, everything went smoothly.
The only recommendation I would make is to possibly purchase additional posts to add mid-way along the sides. On our bumpy land this could pull the fence up at the bumps along the open sections to prevent grass at the fence bottom.
Sturdy, thorough coverage is provided. I have had no trouble opening the fence and getting it back together with firm re-installation of the moved post in our heavy clay soil. Makes me feel like my bees are safe.

Fence is easy to handle. Fast to set up. The driveable posts are sturdy and work good in semi rocky soil. Sturdy corner posts will help fence support against wind.

Easy to install though I haven't tried hooking up to my power source yet. Best put into place with two people.
