Borotto® Lumia 16 Egg Incubator
Professional incubator performance in a small machine. This 16 chicken egg capacity incubator automatically monitors and adjusts heat and turns the eggs for you! Remove eggs from the turning cradles to use the unit as a hatcher.
The Borotto® Lumia 16 Incubator with Humidity Pump (Item #540255 below) draws water from an external source, such as a 2 liter bottle, to maintain proper humidity.
Plastic surfaces feature an antimicrobial additive, preventing harmful bacterial growth during operation to protect your hatch.

Hatching Tips
Always choose eggs suitable for incubation. If possible, choose eggs that have not traveled by mail. Why? Because eggs that are closed inside packaging do not breathe and may have experienced excessive travel stress, vibration, and temperature changes.
Do not incubate eggs dirty with fecal material, as during incubation the temperature and humidity will lead to the establishment of bacterial flora. This can contaminate all the eggs, causing infections to the embryos and resulting in premature death during hatching.
Choose eggs of normal shape (they must not be elongated, spherical, undulated or with any other malformation).
Precautions
The room’s relative humidity should be between 20%–80% when using the SIRIO Humidity Pump, or between 50%–75% without.
Borotto® incubators are designed for the simple incubation of most poultry eggs. Very large eggs will NOT fit in the turner. Temperature and humidity calibration is performed at the factory and is not user-adjustable. Please read the specifications of the incubator to make sure it will work for your situation.

Just got this in for raising quail. Haven’t incubated in it yet but I did a test run and it held temp like a champ! Would recommend!

A successful hatch of Beltsville Turkey Poults. I am using this machine as a hatcher so I can do more frequent batches at shorter time intervals for the eggs. Initial incubation in my 24’s or 49 then transfer to the 16 at lockdown. It really is plug and play.

Completely stopped maintaining temperature and humidity during second day of hatching lockdown. Warming up an old styrofoam incubator to hopefully save the hatch. Very disappointed in what should be the best of the best.

Currently hatching my first batch of Cochin Bantams in the incubator with a 90% hatch success! I love the clear lid because I’m obsessed with watching the process. I haven’t had to clean it yet, but looking at the design versus other incubators I’ve used, it will be easy.
I wish I could give it 5 stars. The only two big complaints I have is that the car adapter melted as soon as I used it (got to love the smell of burning plastic) so that’s a HUGE safety concern. The other is that there’s no humidity sensor without dropping more money for the full humidity pump. I ended up buying a humidity sensor meant for reptile tanks ($8) and put it in the incubator instead, and that worked great!

The Lumia series is a perfect option for those who don’t need a lot of capacity but still want a professional grade incubator.
I use the Lumia 16 for smaller hatches up to 32 quail eggs which works perfect for special breeding project where I don’t set as many eggs. The cloverleaf design of the egg rails is perfect for those who incubate quail, chicken or goose eggs.
The Real 49 Plus egg incubator by Borotto has been my go-to incubator for larger hatches up to 196 quail eggs. The incubator has been very reliable and is pretty much set it and forget it until it’s time to go into lockdown. And coupled with the Sirio Humidity Pump I don’t have to worry about running low on water. I’m very happy with the quality of these incubators!
