24" Wire Panel – DIY Feeders for Large Sheep & Rams
- Panel dimensions: 24"W x 48"L
- 1/4" diameter steel rods
- Hole spacings: 4" x 6"
- (6) barbed 1.6" staples included
All Premier welded wire panels are hot-dip galvanized after all welds are completed. This ensures a heavy zinc coating that resists rusting and extends panel life for years.
How to Use
If your panels are not fitting…If the feeder panels appear too long to fit correctly into your feeder, it may be that your feeder is not square or slightly less than eight feet long.
To fix this problem you can overlap the panels in the center as shown in the photo.

One panel recently purchased was obviously slightly bent when welded and therefor was difficult to place in the feeder. Also several of the horizontal rods extended beyond the vertical rods. Other than those defects the panels work, but quality does not seem to be as good as it was when I first ordered the same panels years ago. I have built 16 feeders using the Premier 1 panels and DIY feeder plans. The originals built twenty plus years ago are still in use and the original panels have held up well.

5 stars all the way! I have wanted to build a feeder for years. I finally did it! It was pretty easy and well worth it it. My sheep love it and it has cut my hay loss by at least 3/4.

Panels worked great for the feeders we built following the Premier 1 plans!

These two sided and one sided feeders are easy to build and they last. The wire panels work. Built a two sided 20 years ago and just built a one sided.

WOW is all I can say about the customer service of Premier1!!. I love this company. First off, the FREE downloadable instructions for the double sided feeder is amazing. Super easy to follow. I had my instructions printed and spiral bound at a printing company so that I can make this feeder again. My dad, husband and I had this feeder built in 4 hours. And that included my dad teaching me how to use a circular saw for the first time! The 24" panels shipped and arrived in 24 hours! Free shipping in 24 hours?? Amazing. I built the double sided feeder for large sheep and rams and have it in a pasture that includes Shetland sheep, Nubian goats, a Saanen goat, alpacas and llamas. All of the animals are able to easily reach the hay and no horns get stuck in the panels! This feeder has cut my hay waste by 98% (there is a little that the animals drop on the ground). I will definitely be building this feeder again for my other animal pens. Way to go Premier1. I have ordered from you in the past (solar charger and electric ribbon fencing for our horses) and you have gained a customer for life! Thanks Premier1 for keeping our homestead up and running!
