Effective at keeping in: sheep, goats, guard dogs and cattle while keeping out deer, coyotes and bear.

For fences that involve curves, corners and directional change, or when aesthetics are a concern, “Plus” nets include additional line posts to reduce sag. Line posts are spaced every 6'8" (vs. 12.5' for standard 48" ElectroFence).

What makes ElectroFence different from PermaNet?

For small breeds such as Pygmy or Nigerian Dwarf goats use PoultryNet style netting. The tighter spacings are a better deterrent to these species than the wider spaced ElectroFence.

Benefits
Sturdier than other nets with regular posts. Still easy to move if needed. Secure for a wide range of animals. Visible for animals against all back grounds. End posts act as built in gates. DS posts are more stable in soft soils.

Installation
The same “unroll and then unfold” process applies to all electrified nets. Minimal strength or skill needed (and no tools). Extra supports such as FiberTuff™ step-in posts are useful at corners, curves and ends. You will need a fence energizer to electrify the net.

Note: Weeds must be controlled for ElectroFence to remain effective. Either move and mow as needed during the growing season, or spray herbicide (see photos above) along the bottom strand of the net. If you can’t do this, ElectroFence may not be the right net for you.

Precautions
Electric fence is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. A common mistake is not electrifying it. Animals may escape or become entangled (and may die). On a % basis, entanglement is very rare, but it can and does occur. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.

Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.

Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.

Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

Troubleshooting
If the voltage drops below 3000V on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000V or higher on the energizer, the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest “hot” strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).

Warranty
With proper care, netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated.

I bought one roll of the ElectroFence Plus and 2 rolls of the regular ElectroFence to see if which we liked better. Double spike is great; no bent spikes and easy step-on set up rather than bending over to push the spike into the ground. For our application the extra posts in the Plus were not necessary as the posts are pretty heavy duty and stand up well. Works well with our sheep. Waiting on a stronger charger for a trial with the 250# goats though.

This fence is great. I'm not a large person at 5'6" tall and 140# and can move this fence and install it alone. It does take some work. It is not easy to do alone but it is easy to do with two people. I have five 100' sections of this fence and use it to make perfect little paddocks for my sheep. I strongly recommend watching the instruction videos and following the instructions to fold the fence and not roll it. I can imagine the mess and struggle if it were rolled. The shock using the kube energizer is strong. It does the job keeping the ram away from the ewes. Make certain to push the posts in at a ninety degree angle to the ground. The fence looks and stands much better. Leave enough slack when covering uneven terrain so that the fence 'molds' itself as you go. Pull it just tight enough not to sag. Once you do this a few times you'll see how easy it is. I use a push mower to cut down a straight line so the fence is not a crazy zig-zag and grass doesn't impinge on the fence. On short pasture, a long tape measure or string is effective and marking a good line for the fence. I'm happy with the fence, lightning arrestor package, energizer package, and grounding rods. Just read the directions and this fence will be a joy to use and a fine addition to the farm. It is robust and comes with a repair package. I've not had to use the repair package even with lambs jumping through the fence when I had forgotten to plug in the energizer. Be sure to buy a handle for the 'gates'.

Excellent product for use with our goats. They are the kids project and they were able to help install the fence it was that easy. Looks to be very durable and should last us a long time.
