Benefits
- You can hang the EzeReel Complete by using brackets (sold separately).
- Much faster than using the hand/elbow method and will keep rolls neater and untangled.
- Can be purchased with or without the support hardware.
- Extends conductor life by allowing it to be stored inside when not in use.
- Easier to use than New Zealand-style reels because the reel itself is supported by a strap around the neck instead of a hand. Wind the reel with the right hand and use the left to remove and install posts and/or conductors or to feed tape flat on the reel.
- Requires fewer turns to wind up 1000 ft than other reels because it has a large 20" inner-reel circumference. A spring-loaded metal latch locks the reel in place when not in use.
How to Use
Tip: To reduce costs, multiple spools can be used on the same metal frame.
Can also hang the EzeReel Complete on either wood or steel posts by using brackets (sold separately).

Handle came apart while we were loading the string on to the reel for the first time. Super glued the handle spindle back in (as the connector is not threaded). Fingers crossed that it will hold! Other than that, the reel feels like it is sturdy, the spool turns smoothly and will hold plenty of string to line half of a football field plus. Next season will be the real test.

Works great! I actually modified it slightly to coil up ropes for my crab traps. I use 5/16 lead weight rope in 100' lengths as well as other lengths. Being able to pull off one side of the spool made it super easy to take the take the rope off nice and neat. This will make deploying the traps the 1st time each day much quicker. I don't know if the product will hold up in a salt water environment, so this will only be used at home at the end of the day to store my trap ropes until the next crabbing adventure. I might try it on Shrimp ropes next year. Those are 300-400 1/4" poly ropes.

Much better reel than the early to late 1990's stuff that used a screw down tightener and rubber friction pads... those were terrible!
These are much better but still need some tweaks...
I had to drill out the spool tie in hole for the larger 6mm electric rope. Once that is done no problem securing the rope to the spool before winding.
The other maddening thing is that the neck loop, the strap used to wind-up after hanging on your neck, has the loop permanently riveted to the spool frame so you have to leave the nylon loop attached to the spool/frame assembly when mounting it for use after deployment. It would be nice to have snaps on the end so you can remove the strap and not have to leave it in the field over a long period of time as the UV will destroy it very rapidly! Version upgrade 2 or 3?

Works like a charm. I use these to cross fence to subdivide pastures. Easy to hang the locked spool on the perimeter barbed fence. It took less than fifteen minutes to erect a two strand 80m fence with step in posts on rugged terrain.
I had to shim one reel with an added washer to get the lock pin to engage. Based on reading the other reviews, this is not uncommon.
My only regret is not buying this years ago.
