Once you use one of these you will never go back to using a heat lamp. The chicks have never been so quiet which means they’re happy! I have to or the largest size and both of them combined use have as much power as my old heat lamp! After introducing my chicks to their water container I placed each one under the heating plate and they learned right away. I have mine set so the front legs are a little higher than the back and find this the best solution when brooding 40+ chicks per heating plate. A must for me now!

Very low maintenance compared to a heat light. I'm very happy and my chicks are too.

This is deserving of all the great reviews I've seen about this product.
I had to intially push the chicks under the plate so they would get the
idea, but it only took that one time. They settle down right away, just
like they'd do under Momma hen. I got the hood for the plate & I would
highly recommend using that for sanitary purposes.

This is my second hearing plate from Premier 1. I love the design. The adjustable legs telescope up and down to find the perfect height for your chicks as they grow. Highly recommend the optional cover to keep your heating plate clean. It’s a product that works as described. I had a question and was very impressed with the customer service provided by Premier 1. You’ve earned a customer for life!

Doesn't get as warm as i expected so i still had to use a heat lamp. I put their food and water on the plate and they don't get them dirty or filled with shavings. Seems to work well as they also have more room on the floor of the cage to move around. Plastic top of plate is easy to clean.
