So far so good! The chicks love it, and they get to spend the night in the dark as nature intended. : )

We added the medium plate and cover. We are awaiting our next delivery so we can use it but it is very heavy duty and high quality.

10/10 recommend this product. The adjustable legs are easy to use and perfect for growing chicks. We have one side lower than the other so chicks can chose how close to the plate they want to be (and thus how warm). We used to use heat lamps but I always worried about the potential for fire or the birds getting too close. We didn't buy the plastic cover but instead just taped up some cardboard to prevent them from sitting (and pooping) on top.

It's very simple to use. The chicks loved it. I raised 15 chicks with the 12x12 version. Space has not been a issue. Definatly the best heat source for a brooder.

No cover just put cardboard on top to keep the poop off it. That poop that misses the cardboard. Wipes off with a damp cloth.

I bought the small heat plate and cover. I was concerned about leaving a heat lamp unattended at the house all day, and the heating plate is the perfect solution and the chicks love it! I don't think it took them 10 minutes to figure out that it was warm and cozy underneath.

I also highly recommend the cover. The chicks like to lay up on top, and they do everything else up there too. :) The cover keeps the top nice and clean and keeps them from roosting up there.

Thanks for a great product.
