Kiwi Crook™
For catching sheep and/or goats by the neck or leg.
It’s both a leg and a neck crook, obviously—but the most important advantage is the self-locking lever on the leg portion that ensures that an animal’s leg, once caught, remains caught until released by human hands.
Triangle point at end of leg shaft allows crook to be used as walking stick over uneven ground.

Tips
For catching small breeds, lambs, sheep with wool, or goats with a neck crook: Once the neck is inside the loop, instantly rotate the crook with your wrist. This applies pressure to both sides of the neck and give you a precious second or two to pull the animal into reach of your hands.

It works really well.. We find it is a little hard to catch a buck Boer goat or Boer goats with big bones. Works much better then standard design crooks. It would be neat if it came in different colors.

I purchased this for my sister's B'day. She has painted desert hair sheep, as we do & I knew she needed something to make it easier to catch her sheep. I know we really appreciate the ease with which the leg crook can catch a back leg more easily than by hand.

Works just like it says. Easy to catch goats but be careful to catch the back leg. My caught goat pulled me all over the place by getting his front leg caught. But he wasn't hurt and was caught just fine.

This is and has been a great tool, I'm not sure how I functioned on the farm before I got it!!! I used it for the first time after receiving when working our 40+ head of semi-feral boer cross goats. My best goat friend loved it so much, I had to order her one for Christmas!
The ONLY reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I think there is a little room for improvement... I would love to see the handle designed to be slightly more ergonomic when using as a walking stick. I also wonder if the leg catch could be made to taper down a bit narrower for a little smaller leg?
Overall, I love love this crook and will continue to use it daily. Thanks Premier for a great product!!

We have been very pleased with the crook. Ours like others does seem to shed a few glass splinters. I wrapped it in colored duck tape. I would still recommend it, but keep your gloves on or a pair of tweezers handy.
