MiniReel™ Wind-up Reel
The most economical way to wind, unwind and store short lengths of rope, braid, twine or tape. Popular for those with small numbers of horses, cattle, sheep and goats.
Lightweight but so resilient that breakage is very rare. Slot in the black handle allows reel to be hung from a fence wire.
Pre-winding—Premier is not able to pre-wind conductors on this reel.

There are other mini-reels on the market that work. This one is terrible. Difficult to use, does not hold up well, does not fit much polybraid. I do not recommend.

It’s a shame Premier doesn’t offer a good, small reel. I’ve switched from geared reels to mostly mini-reels from a different vendor. These are barely passable. I kept the few I ordered and still use them for closing off lanes and gateways when I’m moving animals between pens, but these are the last reels I grab.
The hang hook is a joke — that plastic is flexible enough and the geometry is such that the conductor easily unspools off the side.
The latch takes longer than I’d like to thread all the way in to lock and back out to unlock. Worse, it’s in that super flexible plastic, so any tension just causes it to flex out of the way and the reel to unwind anyway.
Ergonomics are nonexistent. I use them for lanes and gateways, so a max of 30 feet. Cranking up more than that would be downright unpleasant.

This reel is non-conductive, very economical, lightweight without being too flimsy. If used sensibly, only for short stretches, this reel works. I have some old ones that I've used daily for more than 20 years, to reel up highly conductive Premier polywire. Eventually, if cattle charge through polywire, the interior & exterior will come apart, or the handle will break off. This plastic holds up in sunlight. Question: Can broken ones be recycled?

Very long lasting in the sun. I like the slot in the handle. Great when opening up an end section of twine fence and wanting to wind up and hang on the twine or wire. Not sure why some do not like the design.

Cheaper than dirt! Can’t even fit 660' of the tiny wire. A really pathetic design that hurts your hands and isn’t even good enough to do the little it claims to do. Seriously, save your money. A stick might work better. I really liked an economy mini reel from Kencove but it’s been back ordered for quite some time. I gave 3 of these a shot, cause I am a woman and the geared reels are too heavy and just all around built for men. I need the lightness of the cheap reels. But these are WAY too cheap, they should be at the Dollar General or something, 2 for $5.
