Navel Clamps
Product Details
Use these easy to snap on Navel/Umbilical Clamps to close or pinch off the navel cords of newborn lambs or goat kids.
Using clamps can stop bleeding from the umbilical cord and prevent infection. They reduce the need for sprays, dips, and expensive antibiotics. Plus, they are an alternative to iodine.
Benefits
- Plastic clamps can be sterilized and reused
- Unlike iodine, the animal and your hands will not be stained and the strong iodine scent on lambs or goat kids can lead to mis-mothering

These really came in handy! Had several lambs born, but one had an open bleeding umbilical cord, snapped on the clip, and she was as good as the other lambs & doing great! Was easy to use.... One suggestion, I drenched mine in iodine & it made it slippery to use, so keep that in mind when you are clipping them on

This time the clamps were blue. Much easyier to find if droped or comes off from kid. I would have to rate the black ones a 3, because of this, they are harder to reuse if you can not find them. It is much easier with 2 people, one to hold kid,one to apply clamp. I think they are great!

Hard to snap together and come apart too easily.

My first time helping my goats kid. Maybe it's just my in experience but the clamps were hard to snap together with one hand while holding the kid. Had to try a few from the bag before I found one that snapped easier. Once on though it held firm.
