PermaNet® 10/48/6 Electric Netting
Use PermaNet for sites that have installation problems for permanent wire fences (hills, rocks, curves, trees, no machine access). It keeps sheep and goats in and predators out. Can stop a wide range of animals.
How does it compare to our temporary nets (ElectroNet® and ElectroStop®, etc?)
- It's taller, 48"—therefore more reliable.
- Designed to be left in one place for months or years. For this it has stronger, heavier, larger PVC posts with longer, thicker, steel spikes, supporting the net better through wind, rain, ice and snow.
- It's a very good conductor (low electrical resistance). This is critical as weed contact may become heavy.
- Supplied in many lengths—to enable users to buy the right length for each situation.

* Pos/Neg (PN) fences are recommended where the soil is very dry and/or the animals do not ground well. Two clips are used at each end. One is hooked to the energizer, the second should be connected to a ground rod.
Installation
Tip: When using Pos/Neg fencing, a PowerLink (see Accessories above) is recommended to attach the negative lead to the ground rod.
We suggest installing PermaNet with two people. Why? Because of its extra weight and longer posts. It can be handled, installed and removed by one person, but having another person on each end of the posts doubles the productivity and makes it easier for both.
Pushing or stepping posts into the soil is still a one-person task. And so is pulling the posts out of the soil. But these tasks take more effort because the spikes are both larger and longer. (After all, it doesn’t work to have a strong, well-supported post without large and long spikes.)
Note: Weeds must be controlled for PermaNet to remain effective. Either move and mow as needed during the growing season, or spray herbicide (see photos above) along the bottom strand of the net. If you can’t do this, PermaNet may not be the right net for you.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

Works better than expected for goats. Easy to install. Powers through vegetation. Must train you goats on electric netting prior to enclosing them with any electric netting. You will avoid a wreck.

I am new to goats, and this is the first fence I've ever installed. It was easy enough for me to do by myself. (The 150 ft. roll was too heavy for me, so I laid it across a wheelbarrow while laying the first half out. Saved my back.)
One thing I wish I had known/thought about was sagging on hills. In all the install videos, the fence is set up on flat ground, where it doesn't sag much at all. Half of my fence is on a hill though, so I needed extra posts in the middle of each section. Not a deal breaker-just plan to buy some support posts if you are installing on a slope. I had bought FiberTuff 22 mm posts to reinforce the corners and they worked well to stop the sagging, but you could probably get away with a smaller diameter (they're cheaper) if your fence is going straight down the slope.

I purchased the PermaNet to fence off part of our lot around our house to allow some boer goats to help clear briars and poison oak around some trees. The area is about an acre. I liked the green and black color of the net because the fence is close to our house and the color blends into the landscape. I used the 100X solar charger because it is in a shaded area that only gets a few hours of direct sunlight per day. We followed the well written instructions and had 3 people and took care not to tangle. Our land is very rocky and the double spike stakes were able to be placed except in a few places. I used metal T-post 5 ft high on the corners and at the places the rocks were too much for the spikes. The t-post were insulated with 1 1/4 inch PVC irrigation pipe slipped over the t-post with a PVC cap on the top. This worked very well. Zip ties were used to secure to the post. I had about 10 ft of extra net at the end so I put a t-post with the PVC pipe over and wrapped the net around the corner and doubled back behind the other net and pulled the slack out. I plan on the net to be in this one area for at least 2 years.
