Installation
We suggest installing PermaNet with two people. Why? Because of its extra weight and longer posts. It can be handled, installed and removed by one person, but having another person on each end of the posts doubles the productivity and makes it easier for both.
Pushing or stepping posts into the soil is still a one-person task. And so is pulling the posts out of the soil. But these tasks take more effort because the spikes are both larger and longer. (After all, it doesn’t work to have a strong, well-supported post without large and long spikes.)
Note: Weeds must be controlled for PermaNet to remain effective. Either move and mow as needed during the growing season, or spray herbicide (see photos above) along the bottom strand of the net. If you can’t do this, PermaNet may not be the right net for you.
Because it’s so tall, insulated cable is needed to connect the clip (at the top) to the energizer. The normal positive connection from the energizer is too short to reach the top.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

Luckily I found Premier1 online and contacted them about my problem. They recommended trying the PermaNet fence. I wasn’t convinced that such a short fence could keep the hungry deer out.
I’m now in my third gardening season with the PermaNet and have yet to have a single deer jump over the fence. I’m completely convinced that Premier1 saved my garden and the deer will never eat my crops again.

As always Premier1's electric netting solves my predator problem.
I have several bantam roosters I keep as house pets. I let them outside during the day, but the predators found them, and I lost two. I didn't want to put them in the barn with the big chickens, because they're pets. Also I was afraid they'd fly right over the shorter chicken fencing.
Someone pointed out the deer fencing, so I bought a length of the one that prevents chickens from going through and roped off a section of the back door. Even my tiny Sebright stays inside the fence, and they're all safe to stay out during the day. As a bonus it keeps the goats from the back door. They were getting to be a nuisance, and they can jump right over the chicken fencing.
I'll be buying one or two more sections of this fencing in the coming months and expanding their territory.

The netting seems fantastic. The bending plastic poles are "garbage" and I hate them. I am going to have to get tent stakes and guy wires (or cord) to make the fence work properly. (The spikes on the bottom of the poles work great.) I can understand why you would want the poles to be lightweight, but because they bend a lot, it causes the electric netting to hang on the ground and short out. Also there needs to be more information included on exactly how the electrical part of the fencing works. I have not been using the product long enough to know how effective it is against predators. I highly recommend the electric netting but not the included poles with this taller fencing.

We have used Premier1 electric fencing for over a decade and it is a truly superior product! It works very effectively in keeping predators out of our chicken yard and the deer fence keeps our garden free of ALL animals. Works excellently with solar energizers. This product last for years and is extremely easy to move and store. We highly recommend it!

Husband bought me a chicken coop for my birthday and it came with a small run area. The coop is on wheels and we were moving it every two days. We wanted an easy way to make the "outdoor space" bigger so we would not have to move the coop so often and this fencing is great. It is easy to move yet very durable. This has literally doubled the run size, ten times over.....and the hens have alot of room to scratch and scratch and scratch...do they ever stop scratching ;0)?
Thank you and I hope we can do business again.

I highly recommend these nets. No more closing the chicken coop door and hurrying out in the morning to open it. I have had 100s of birds protected only by these nets for several months now and they fully appreciate being out as early as they want to. The nets stand up well, and maybe its that I'm finally used to how to set them up but with a little weed whacking and pulling the spike over with my feet and turning the double in the opposite direction I'm pulling from the nets stay straight with minimal folding over of the bottom hot strand. Did I mention the chickens are adjacent to a riparian area that holds every predator imaginable? Way to go Premier1!
