A portable electric fence designed to keep “free range” pastured pigs in. The bottom strand is suspended 6" above the ground to prevent pigs from rooting soil onto the fence.

Put your pigs to work by using their rooting and foraging instincts to your benefit. Selectively till gardens, pastures, woodlots or just about anywhere else on the farmstead. Once a section is tilled, it’s easy to take down the fence and move the pigs to their next job site.

Installation
The same “unroll and then unfold” process applies to all electrified nets. Minimal strength or skill needed (and no tools). Extra supports such as FiberTuff™ step-in posts are useful at corners, curves and ends. You will need a fence energizer to electrify the net.

Precautions
Experience tells us that domestic pigs must be trained to electric fence. Failing to do so can be expensive—in damage to the fence plus the damage the escaped pigs might create. Inexperienced pigs may decide to respond like pigs—and charge forward through the fence instead of backing away.

To train, set up Pig QuikFence® fence alongside (1 to 2 ft away) a secure permanent fence that the pigs can’t get through. Make sure the netting is electrified—at least 3000V at the end of the fence. Introduce the pigs to the fence and monitor for a few hours.

Electric fence is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. A common mistake is not electrifying it. Animals may escape or become entangled (and may die). On a % basis, entanglement is very rare, but it can and does occur. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.

Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.

Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.

Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

Troubleshooting
If the voltage drops below 3000V on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000V or higher on the energizer, the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest “hot” strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).

Warranty
With proper care, electric netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated.

A nice feature of this net is the lowest strand is high enough off the ground to avoid most contact from weeds and sticks. And pigs have a hard time burying the strand when they are rooting near it. Pigs can quickly till the soil, so expect to move the fence and pigs often.

Only have had the pig fence for a little over a week for my KuneKune piglets and so far it is amazing. It was so easy to set up, and after a few shocks they were done testing it. I am definitely planning on buying fencing down the road to expand my pasture.

This hog fence is a MUST for KuneKune pigs. I see reviews where it does not work for others — what I would say is every pig is different, and some breeds are more easily restrained than others.

Our feeders are behind a hog pannel, but our Kunes do AMAZING with this fencing. The shocker you will NEED.

The posts are built strong and I love how there is some clearance at the bottom. What a great product, I will be coming back for more.

Love this for my goats on very uneven ground! Bottom wire is electrified AND ADJUSTABLE height so they go under at dips in the ground much less. I don’t see it saying about the adjustment in the description but its one of the best features! I have only one goat that jumped it and I make sure never to put her in it again to teach the others.

I was very skeptical at first about this pig fencing. We have used a solid steel wire for years and it worked just fine. I wanted to start branching out and pasturing my pigs in some of the woods to clear underbrush and debris. With a new litter of piglets I needed a way to keep them contained so I got this pig fencing as a 2-for-1 purchase. I figured if it didn't work for the piglets it would do fine for the woods. Boy have I been amazed! It works fantastic.

It's super easy to put up and super easy to adjust / move. No need for thousands of dollars of woven wire fence just put this up and you are good to go and free to change your mind and move it into another configuration.

One tip I can say is you gotta have a good fence charger and a good ground. I use mine with a 25 year old Parmak charger and I always use a 6' copper ground rod. This keeps my fence voltage around 12K. That zap gets those pigs to remember and they do not test it but once. Fantastic product and I will be buying more!

Loving this fence! I was able to put it up by myself, super simple. My pigs are loving their new area I put them in, they are now pasture pigs!
