It really does making chicken snatching much easier. Once they have figured out what you are doing, though, there is still gonna be a bit of a chase. And one of my freedom rangers slips right out of it, I have no idea how.

Excellent product for the price, very durable. Easy to bend to the chickens leg size. I have one chicken that has learned to jump the hook, i just have to outwit him. Every chicken will react differently, and one has to develop your own method.

This is a nice modern version of an old tool. I have the heavy wire catcher that my great aunts used when my mother was a child and this is almost as good. The wire on this one is a bit thinner and has a whip to it, but I got used to that. The handle is nice, but the nut seems to come lose all the time. Not sure what it is supposed to hold, but I will probably put something on it someday to lock it down. Very minor complaint though. I have caught a lot of chickens with this one and will be ordering several more to have scattered around the differnt hoop pens since I always seem to be in a different place than one of the catchers is when I need it.
These work great on standard sized chickens and fairly well on juvenile turkeys. They do not work well on guenias since their feet are small and thin and slip though the hook even with mashed down to be thinner.
That is one nice things about these tools they are very easy to personallize. You can change the size on the hook a bit to match the size of the legs on your chickens. I also put a slight angle on the wire from the handle because that seems to work better for me when trying to catch them unaware. If you get experienced with these hooks, you can even catch a chicken on the run.

Better than a net, but my chickens are pets. I can hold a handful of sunflower seed already hulled & pick-up anyone of the 60+ chickens. I do use it on the roos due too the spurs....
