Standard PoultryNet works well for us, but for some it sags too much between the posts so we also have PoultryNet Plus. The “plus” version is heavier and bulkier to move though. If you don’t plan to move the net very often and want it “tight”, use PermaNet Plus. But the most important point, it keeps our birds in and predators out!

I raise ducks, turkeys, and chicken in these fences. I have not had any problems with predators since I started to use premier1 fences. I move my birds daily and this would be impossible without these fences.

We wanted our chickens to move up a notch from cage-free to free-range. We didn't want them in the garden so we installed the Poultry Net. They now have an opening from the chicken yard, where there is no grass, to the pasture. They have now discovered a "New World" ! So cute to seem them venture out.

Overall,I like this product. I bought the double spike version and can't imagine single spike working at all. The wind here is INTENSE and nearly blows the whole thing over since the posts are somewhat flimsy plastic. Of course, this is also a benefit for the weight of the fencing when moving. I use standard electric fence posts to provide extra support (like a back stay) anywhere I have a slight turn.

I have had the same sagging problem mentioned by others and it is frustrating. It required that I get some additional plastic fence posts from Southern States and stake the corners of the fence, using nylon cord to “pull” the electric fence posts to the supplemental posts. Although this works okay, it adds to the time required to move the fence, easy fence mobility being the reason I bought this model to begin with. The problem with sagging is that the fence shorts out on the grass (which I mow first), draining the battery on our solar charged unit so that at night the fence is dead.

I read about buying additional poles form Premier and weaving them in. This seems quite doable and would solve the sag problem, but that increases cost as well as time to move. This brings up another issue with the fence that I find irritating. The default number/spacing of the poles on the 82’ fence results in an odd (7) number of segments. You can’t make a square/rectangular enclosure with an odd number of segments and this bugs me because we are having to figure out how to arrange the mobile coop, feeders, etc., to accommodate an irregular (not square or rectangular) fence shape.

I have been a loyal Premier customer for 7 years and have used Premier sheep netting for that long. I purchased four 82' double spike 42" poultry nets for my daughter to use this past Spring. We are both very disappointed in the sag and consequent shorting of the fence. The difference between the sheep & chicken nets? Mainly, the sheep netting had vertical stiffeners where the chicken netting is just string. THIS is the reason it sags. In addition, we do not think that 2" spacing is needed on poultry netting. 3 or even 4" spacing at the bottom is enough.
