Product Details

A prefabricated, 48" tall electric fence to keep in chickens, ducks, geese and other poultry while keeping their ground-based predators out. Recommended for active birds that like to fly (e.g. Leghorns and Buttercups).

Key features:

  • PORTABLE — Arrives to your door as a complete roll with the line posts already built in. One roll (164 ft) weighs only 23 lbs.
  • QUICK TO INSTALL — Even for new users, it takes less than 15 minutes to go from out-of-the-box netting to installed fence. No tools needed!
  • CONTAIN & CONTROL — Designed for active, flighty breeds. The taller 48" net is more likely to discourage large predators such as coyotes and dogs.

Important! You will need a fence energizer (sold separately) to electrify the net.

We offer many fences to fit your situation, including complete kits, different heights and lengths, multiple colors, drivable posts and positive/negative options for dry soils. Visit this link to compare all PoultryNet options.

With its many horizontal and vertical lines, the 48" PoultryNet is more cumbersome to move than its 42" tall sibling, but it’s better suited for flightier chickens. Some users find that it sags too much between posts, so we also offer PoultryNet Plus, which includes additional posts. On uneven terrain, add SagStoppers to prevent the lower strands from touching the ground, helping to maintain adequate voltage.

I use this poultry netting to allow my chickens some free range without exposing them to predators or my yard to their messes. It's easy to move and set up; I do it by myself. Make sure you read the directions about keeping it folded correctly carefully so you don't have a tangled mess. I like it so much I bought another 80' to give my chickens more room to run.

Exactly as described! Out of the box and ready to use in a few minutes. Our first setup snaked out of the barn and through a gate to a nice circle for our young layers to get their first taste of the outdoors. Even with an S shape the net does well supported by a few extra plastic posts. The birds are still a bit small and can wiggle through, but they get a series of shocks as they squeeze through and aren't likely to do it again. We ordered two poultry nets and used one to move the sheep and contain them for a few days while we reconfigured the electric fence paddocks they are normally in. Very Versatile!!! I can see how the PLUS netting would be beneficial if you had to make turns or go over uneven ground, but this netting is more than adequate for our gently sloped property and planned use for containing/protecting around 200 laying hens.

These fences work. I bought some cheaper fences from another company, and they disintegrated. These cost a little more, but they're the ones to get.

Very happy with this fence, light years easier to work with than single spiked fence! The only real improvement I would suggest is making the spikes of a stronger metal, as we have bent a few with use.

This is the second length of the 12/48/3 poultry net that i've purchased. The first one worked quite well and i decided to purchase a second for easier rotation of our animals.

The fence is of high quality construction, which is typical and expected from Premier, in my opinion. Solid and mostly thoughtful construction.

My one complaint about this fence is that it came with an odd number of panels (17 total), which means it is impossible to set up as a square without purchasing additional posts, or removing one post and re-working it to have equally sized panels again. Quite annoying to me, especially considering the 82' length comes with an even number (8 panels). I can't fathom the reason for this, and customer support pretty much told me they don't care and that i should buy more posts.
