New to electric fence? Premier’s Starter Kits may be a good choice. They include netting, extra support posts, a solar fence energizer, ground stake and a digital tester.
No extra gates needed. Just turn off the energizer and pull the first post to create an opening. For added convenience, a PoultryNet® Gate can be used to provide easy access without the need to turn the energizer off.
PoultryNet® Plus 12/48/3 is identical to standard 48" PoultryNet, but to help with sagging, we’ve added more posts to shorten the distance between them (6'8" vs. 10'). More posts means less sag and a more versatile fence which adapts easily to curves and hills.
Double spike posts are more stable in soft soils. Green is available for those who prefer to have the fence blend into the background or landscape.
- Contain and control the movement of chickens, ducks and other poultry on a daily or weekly basis
- Rotate poultry to fresh grass as a food source and to reduce disease risks
- Keep small flocks in the backyard. When managed well, chickens are an indispensable garden tool—turning pesky insects and weeds into rich compost.
- Keeps out deer, bears, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, stray dogs and skunks
- Can be used to contain and control livestock other than poultry, such as sheep, goats, cattle and guard dogs

Electric fence is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. A common mistake is not electrifying it. Animals may escape or become entangled (and may die). On a % basis, entanglement is very rare, but it can and does occur. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.
Netting must be moved when tall grass covers the lower “hot” strands. The alternative? Apply a strip of herbicide to kill vegetation.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause posts to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.
If possible, separate the fence into sections. Then progressively reconnect, checking voltage as you go. When the voltage drops, you’ve identified the section with the problem. Listen for snapping sounds. This occurs when a conductor is close to a grounded wire, metal objects, fallen branches, or other green vegetation causing a “short”. Shorts cause fence voltage to collapse and allow animals to touch the fence without feeling pain.

I have had great success with Premier fencing. I have two 100' deer fences and another 50' poultry fence. I changed the structure of my main garden this year to try straw bale gardening and found the deer fence unsuitable for keeping my free ranging chickens out. Also, the 100' length with the wide post spacing was a little too unwieldy. These two 50' fences work perfectly. They have worked well so far to keep both the chickens and the deer out. I also like the green color of these two new ones. I find it much more attractive in my garden setting. I recommend it highly.

I love this product but if you live in a windy area or have rocky soil get the more sturdy double spiked and drivable netting. I had a brooder that wasnt in this fence and it was tragically broke into and my chicks killed but have never had an problem inside this fencing! Its great!

I absolutely love this electric netting. We use it to range our mature laying flock, and our turkeys. It is easy to move and very well built. It carries a very good charge. We did have one roll that was missing a vertical strand, and one hen kept getting out, but after we discovered the problem, it was easily fixed with the included repair kit.

This is our second purchase of Premier Poultry netting. It is the perfect solution for mobile pasturing our little flock. Everything from purchase to delivery to set-up was accomplished without a hitch.
Premier will continue to be my poultry fencing supplier of choice.

Bought 150' (#207021) and put it up in less than 1/2 hour. Have not energized yet because not needed to keep Henry and the girls in. Will do so later. The shorter spans (6.8') work well for uneven, windy location. I also bought 6 (#205014) posts which are easily used for extra support. Very pleased.
