- Has three legs to stand up and out of the bedding to reduce soiling of water tray. Legs elevate waterer 5".

I purchased 2 of these waterers I like the height to keep some debris out but it does have a flaw the plastic donut fills with water and that makes the water continuously come out so it never stays filled. My husband had to seal it with aquarium sealant to keep it from filling and now there is no problems with the waterer emptying 20 minutes after I fill it. Also it is a pain to clean you have to take it apart because it grows algae in the parts not visible from the outside. I have had mine for about 1 year and the red top is clear from fading.

Well made and holds 3 gal. but I have 8 hens who do not need 3 gallons a day. Wish this was smaller. It has a large foot print in the run.
Easy to clean. I have a sand run and although it is up on concrete blocks, it still gets sand in the trough.

Came shipped with multiple parts that needed assembly. Easy to
Put together by make sure you don't strip the plastic nut onto the plastic male
Locking portion that connects the two together. After a day tighten the nut again as it leaked a little. Once it is assembled just hose it out to clean as needed. Large capacity makes it low maintanence.

Love this waterer because I don't have to carry it full of water and then flip it over. I just hang it in the coop and use the hose to fill it from the top. The top doesn't fit tightly if I remove it while it's hanging, but it fits well enough to keep dirt and bugs out so no big deal. Great idea and the only one like it that I could find. It's not heated, so I'll use my fill and flip heated waterer during winter months.

These waterers are tough! They are very well made and should last for years.
