When applied to the chest of a ram, makes bright, long-lasting marks to easily identify which ewes have been bred.

How to Use
When using mineral oil: Mix 2 parts powder to 1-1/2 parts of mineral oil into a thick paste.
Use OB gloves (to help keep your hands clean) and rub paste into the lower neck/brisket. Apply fresh raddle to brisket every 2 to 5 days. Wool or hair growth of 2 to 3 months on the brisket helps to absorb/release the paste.
Precautions
- Usually takes more than one application. More messy than a breeding harness.
- Marks are NOT always scourable—particularly if vegetable oil is used.
- It is difficult to remove all of the raddle from the animal’s chest in order to change colors mid-season. If you plan to switch colors, go bright to dark or green/red/blue.
- Raddle works best with wooled breeds of sheep. The fiber of hair sheep and goats does not hold the raddle as efficiently as wool.

I purchased 3 colors of Raddle Powder. I am very pleased and respectful of the fact that your descriptions of the wool paint versus ram harneses did say that using the paint is the messier version. I'm glad you told me. This way I knew what I was getting into and am not disappointed. I first mixed it with vegetable oil, but then tried using clear grease from a tube. The oil dissolves the powder better, but I like the thickness of the grease. I don't end up having so much paint drip out of my hand. I use a latex glove, but the paint does wash off easily.
I would like some advice on what is the best order for using the colors. I started with blue and plan to switch to red and then green. Also I plan to change colors after 21 days.
I am pleased that this I have enough product to last for a lot of application. I am thinking of also using it with my wool paint numbers/brands.

Works very well. Directions on the package are very clear and easy to follow. Liked the suggestion on this website to purchase the OB gloves along with the powder.

This stuff is a little messy, but really easy to use. We mixed it with veggie oil and it washed right off my hands with Dawn. It didn't even leave a stain from the pigment. Our ram had about a month of wool growth and it still worked well.
