Precautions
- Use a battery tester to determine when 12V batteries need to be recharged.
- Use a 2 amp or smaller slow trickle charger or battery tender to recharge.
- Draining the battery to below 50% may damage the battery and shorten its lifespan.
Tips
Failure to maintain a sealed lead acid (SLA) battery will dramatically shorten the lifespan and/or permanently damage it.
- Immediately after recharging, allow the battery to “rest” for 45–60 minutes, then measure the voltage. A fully charged battery should have a resting voltage between 12.8V–12.6V.
- If storing batteries over the winter, periodically recharge to full at least once per month.
- Keep batteries from freezing, especially if discharged lower than 11.8V.
- Recharge frequently even if the battery is not fully discharged. Don’t allow the voltage to drop below 10.5V for an extended period. Premier’s all-in-one solar fence energizers contain advanced circuitry to recharge 12V batteries using the solar panel when exposed to direct sunlight.
- To extend battery life, use a 2 amp or less trickle charge. Repeated fast charging will reduce the capacity of the battery.
Warranty
Note: 12V SLA batteries are a rechargeable battery that if not properly and frequently recharged with a solar panel or trickle charger may result in premature degradation or failure. Proper maintenance is a requirement for these batteries to function as intended/advertised.

Fast shipping, good quality at a reasonable price!
Mark F from Virginia
Good battery but you can find many comparable ones for cheaper elsewhere. Also very poorly packaged. I don’t mind paying more to avoid getting burned on poor quality products but I have been really disappointed with Premier. Prices are premium but products are disappointing. Their customer service is very responsive and tries to help, but that doesn’t change the cost and product quality.

It works well and they stand by the warranty. I had a problem with my unit and called Premier and they told me to send it to them and in a few days the sent back to me at no charge.

Always need a back up battery!

Left charger off over one year and batteries did not take charge. No problem, called and got new batteries and installed. Back to keeping sheep safe with working charger.
