I use and abuse this crook almost daily. It’s great for catching sheep (it’s a nice size for adult Shetlands even in full fleece), directing sheep, breaking the ice on water buckets, as insurance when I need to go in with the rams, and as a walking stick when the pasture’s muddy. It’s humid here, so the crook comes inside with me every day, and we leave a fiberglass crook in the barn for emergencies. My only complaint is that after years of hard service the finish is wearing off, so it might be time to pick up a second!

Love the metal bottom cap, helps prevent the wood from getting damaged when moving around the field and pens. My only wish is for the neck opening to be larger to accommodate my Icelandic sheep’s necks.

This is a very beautiful crook, but it is too small for use on sheep, except lambs. I bought it as a gift for a fellow shepherd — unfortunately they can only use it as a wall hanging. It may be suitable for other things, but I cannot recommend it for working with sheep.

Received in a timely manner. The crook I bought for my ram works perfectly.

This Sweet Chestnut Wooden Neck Crook was given as a gift from our Interim Pastor to our new Lead Pastor on his first Sunday service. There is a great biblical explanation about the staff/crook and the fact that it is used to shepherd the flock. It was a perfect gift. Also, I owe a huge thanks to the ordering department and shipping department for making sure the crook arrived in time. I will recommend this company because their customer service is amazing!
