Everything we have ever gotten from Premier has been great, with the exception of this feeder. In spite of the high price, I was convinced it would work beautifully for us. Not so. It was difficult to assemble, especially with no specific info on inserting the plastic hooks. The fit was so tight I was afraid I would break them. We have our layers in low movable field pens, and at each move, a pile of feed (ground feed) is left behind, in spite of the built in lip. My adjustment of the flow rate as low as possible and mounting the feeder at 2 different heights (cutting a hole in the pen for each) didn’t fix the problem. Also, it would be nicer if the flow rate was adjustable from outside the pen.

I am going to be that negative Nancy. Sorry! But this is the WORST poultry product that I have ever purchased. Not only was it extremely cumbersome to attach to the wire, but it allowed moisture to somehow get into the feed. I had disgusting moldy rotted feed in the spaces between the inner flap and body of the feeder and didn’t know it. The food was moving down only in the center. I didn’t realize why my birds were so reluctant to eat from this particular feeder, but now I know why. I’d steer clear of this one.

I have this in an enclosure with 10 medium-sized laying ducks. I use pelleted feed, and the 10 pound feeder and silo extender hold a little more than 2 days worth of feed (they free range too).
I really like this product, because it keeps the ducks from stepping in the food, accidentally flipping it out, and soiling it (like they were doing with feed pans). They do shovel some food out of the feeder as they're eating, but putting a feed pan under it solved the problem. I only need to dump the feed pan if it rains and gets wet--otherwise they'll eat everything. The Wise feeder keeps the feed inside it dry, as long as I use the included rain shield.
